Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

So after a year of paying insuranace with this company, I finally needed a new phone as mine had gotten water damaged on a hike I went on. I called them, waited about 30 minutes on hold for them to tell me that the primary account holder needed to call them back. So I filed a report online, and they sent me tracking info for my new phone. After about a week, the phone had not yet come.

I checked on their crappy website to see what was up, and turns out that the claim had not gone through, despite the fact that they had sent a confirmation email.

Finally, I successfully filed the claim, and got the new phone. I had trouble activating it, and was transferred through several customer service agents until finally someone with enough expertise could help me. I had the phone for a week, until it stopped working. I could hear messages coming in, so it was still on, but the screen was completely black. It's an Android Galaxy S3. I googled the issue right away, and 122,000,000 hits came up, all forums with people saying they've had the same problem, apparently it's a pretty common issue.

I called Assurant Solutions to let them know that the phone they sent me was defective. They asked me if there was any physical damage to the phone. I said no. They asked if there were any scratches on the surface. I looked closely under a light, and noticed, yes there was a single superficial scratch, the type of thing you'd get putting your phone in your jeans pocket.

The representative told me that because the phone had been physically damaged, there was nothing they could do for me. I asked them if the phone they sent was new or refurbished, and they said it was refurbished, but refurbished phones work exactly the same way that new phones do. I was transferred to several different managers, each of them more and more rude.

Once they claimed that when I first had trouble activating the phone I should have reported it. Like I'm going to call each time my phone freezes or mildly malfunctions.

Another time one of the managers rudely stated that she had had the same phone for over a year, and that there was not a single scratch to be found on her precious phone.

When I got my first Galaxy S3, I had dropped the phone off my dorm bunk bed, put it in my backpack under all my books, taken it into the bathroom while I showered, and the surface was completely cracked. The phone worked fine until it finally got soaked in an unexpected rain storm.

So why did my brand new phone cease working after just a week and having no more damage than the tinest of scratches? Because Assurant Solutions is determined to rip off its customers and constantly chooses the cheapest route possible. They purchase defective phones, barely repair them, and send them to their customers. If you don't believe me, look at their website. It's complete crap. Probably cost them $100 to put up. I'm 17 and I've designed a better website.

So, quick summary: Assurant Solutions is a corrupt and selfish company that WILL send you defective phones and will not  take back your phone if there is the slighest evidence of damage. Do not pay for this service, it is waste of money, energy, and time.
