I'd contacted my local employment agency (Spherion) to find work, and I was told they had two open telemarketing positions for a company called Astonish Results; (a digital marketing group who builds virtual websites for insurance companies to increase their businesses and revenue). Upon my inquriy I 'd submitted my resume which clearly stated my years of experience in customer service (8 years); and  due to my extensive experience, my local employment agency thought I was a great candidate for Astonish Results.

I was contacted by a woman from Astonish Results Human Resource Dept, and she'd interviewed me over the phone. The interview went so well that I was contacted the next day by Spherion to start work on the next day 9am to 5pm. Upon arrival at Astonish Results office in Orlando, Fl, I was greeted to a warm welcoming by a young gentleman who offered and brought me a soda. I waited in the lobby for 20 mins for my trainer Alexia Toscano to come in and train me; who was late btw.

She greeted me with this big smile and started talking to me about my past work experience. She introduced me to the entire office (all seemed to be nice people). She started to train me on the program and what I would be doing and like any person who's just starting a job, you ask questions and take notes when in training. All day long she had trained me telling be about her boyfriend and how he'd texted her about her sexy panties (which she showed me the text and I thought was inappropriate).

Anyways, the whole time she was training me, she acted like I was so welcomed to be joining this exciting young company, showing me presentations; demonstrating calls (because I was going to be an appt setter) and such. At the end of the day she told me I would be back when the company ordered my laptop for me to work off of. She was very two-faced (which you will shortly see why).

I got home and called Spherion to get a check-up on my paper work for payroll, and to my very surprise, my employment agency rep told me Astonish Results said they did not need me to come back. And I was confused because the day went so well, and I was picking up on the training quickly.

The whole time this woman who'd trained me (Alexis Toscano), was fake from her smiles, to her building a rapport with me all day long. And at the end when I got home, she calls Spherion and says they don't want me back? I did everything I was suppose to do! The entire company is filled with white people, and it only has me wondering if this has anything to do with me being a black woman.

She Alexis told Spherion that I was not experienced enough in outlook, but when the HR dept interviewed me two days prior, they already had told me the requirements and it did not include outlook. I told them in the interview everything I was exp in and she said that was good enough and I was a great candidate.

My uincle is a lawyer and I will be filing a discrimination suit against this very fake company of fake people with smiles on their faces and wearing two faces. Alexia gave me no hints that I wasn't right for the job, in fact, she assured me that I would be back to work and they would have my laptop ready!  I cannot stand phony people, and the people at Astonish Results are phony.

Not true: There were at least 5 other people screened for the position, and I was one of the two they had chosen out of the people who were thoroughly screened and interviewed.

Did any one say how many positions were available?  Isn't it possible that only 1 position was actually available?  They could have picked the 2 most likely candidates, you and the other person, and given you both trial runs for a day.  Then they just picked the person who they felt fit their needs better.

Also, if they did reject you for being black, do you really want to work for them any way?  I just got turned down for a promotion at work; the job went to one of the supervisor's sons.  His second day on the job, the machine fell apart and he lost part of his finger when the blade landed on it.  I'm just saying, sometimes things happen for a reason.  Maybe the cosmos knew you were going to get your old job back and didn't want to put you in the position of having to make the decision of whether to leave this new job, hence leaving the other candidate without a job, OR stay with this new job with people you may or may get along with.

Since you obviously don't know the difference here are the definitions:

Right to work:

A "right-to-work" law is a statute that prohibits union security agreements, or agreements between labor unions and employers that govern the extent to which an established union can require employees' membership, payment of union dues, or fees as a condition of employment, either before or after hiring. Right-to-work laws exist in twenty-three U.S. states, mostly in the southern and western United States. Such laws are allowed under the 1947 federal TaftHartley Act

Employee at will:

at-will employment is a doctrine of American law that defines an employment relationship in which either party can break the relationship with no liability, provided there was no express contract for a definite term governing the employment relationship and that the employer does not belong to a collective bargaining group (i.e., has not recognized a union).

Are you saying that Astonish call center employees are members of the union and that you were denied employment because you were not??

You never actually worked for Astonish to begin with. Will you be getting paid for the day you went there? At what rate??

The only comprehension problem is on your end!

Following up to your response titled "Comprehension".

The only comprehension problem is on your end.

You still think that "right to work" actually gives an employee some level op rights with regard to hiring and/or firing or other routine employee/employer matters.

It doesn't!

Therefore, you should not have made any reference to "right to work" as it simply does not apply here.

Workers really do not have any "rights", especially in an "at will" employment state, such as Florida.

Your only rights are those afforded under workplace safety laws such as various OSHA and EPA standards, and those rights protected under federal law, such as discrimination, harassment, etc.

You simply referenced "right to work" only through your ignorance of what "right to work" really is.

Don't try to justify your statement, as you acn not.

It simply does not apply here.

"Right to work" ONLY applies to a workplace where a union contract is in place.

Nowhere else.

Get some education before spouting nonsense, or your attempt to defend a position that is sheer nonsense.

>>>

I am well aware of the 'Right To Work' law in my state. If you could read, you would see that I'd brought that up as a way of showing how these companies take advantage of that law and fire people for no apparent reason knowing that law protects them!

I am sure someone here agree with Steven; that is because you both work for Astonish Results! Go figure....

I have hurt my chances on employment: Hmm, let's see here....my phone is ringing off the hook with offers, and I am currently employed with my former company again; I'd say that is a fail on your behalf. You think I would need to work for either company again? That is hilarious! This has gone BEYOND that, this is about someone voicing their rights and calling out discrimination! I already have an organization looking into this matter, so don't think it stops here at Rip Off Report!

It amazes me that Astonish Results is trying to save their asses because of one of their inappropriate employees; I would be very disturbed if this woman is still employed there. But we'll find that out sooner or later. And as upon request by my people, let them handle the rest...

How old was Alexia? How old were the others in the call center?? I would guess may late teens to early 20's and you are 34. That could be one reason and the fact that you are still under 40 or 42 throws out the
option of age discrimination.

They could have felt you didn't fit in because you were at least 10 years older than the other employees.

That whole entire paragraph is debunked because I was definitely not the oldest there. There were at least 8 other people older than I was. No one in that office looked to be under 30.

Not a matter of being unqualified, Tara just the fact that maybe you did not get the position because someone was more "Qualified" than you.
Open

Not true: There were at least 5 other people screened for the position, and I was one of the two they had chosen out of the people who were thoroughly screened and interviewed.

I was just thinking of something. What if knowledge of Microsoft Office was needed and you knew Microsoft Word and confused the two? When you got to the site they discovered that you didn't know MS Office and were confusing the two programs.

All of my qualifications, were discussed in both interviews with Spherion and Astonish Results before I'd gotten hired. All of my skills were on my resume which both Astonish Results and Spherion had copies of before I was hired to do the job

The message that everyone is trying to convey to you is that rejection goes with the process of applying for a job so attitude is definitely a problem on your end.

Attitude is a problem? And you'd determined that by a report filed on here in regards to me making a discrimination claim? I would say if an attitude is/was detected, wouldn't you think in a situation like this warrants the purpose? Rejections is a part of the process; but that doesn't excuse discrimination from the equation either when it is evident

Including the spelling error for mantality (mentality) you are wrong all the way through this. You are still confusing "Right to Work" with  "Employee at will" I will save the space and time by just asking you to
go to Wikipedia or Google and look up those two terms and you will see the difference.

I know exactly what 'Right To Work' is and I do not need to rely on a search engine to know its meaning. Good to know that's where you had to reassure yourself of that law...

Did you review your contract with Spherion and note that you are a TEMP with an option of TEMP TO HIRE. In addition to this TEMP status I think they still have a 90-120 day probationary period that you can be let go at any time with no notice. The plus side of this is that you do not have to give notice either and it will not count against you since all  you have to do is say this is not the right place for me.

That is something I knew beforehand and this is exactly my point! They disguise reasons they really want you fired in place of the 'Right To Work' law, by providing some type of "legitimate" reason why you was fired. It goes convenient for them. So you mean to tell me just because someone has the right to fire you at any given time without a valid reason ( but they make up one), you would just let that happen; giving then the upper hand of doing it to the next person without you warning people? Oh please spare me that!

Just because you talked to a recruiter does not mean that the recruiter hired you. Did you talk to the hiring manager? Companies often have someone come into the workplace so they can see what it is like as part of the process. During this time they meet potential coworkers and interact with them.

I'd talked to both Spherion and Astonish Results before I was hired onto the job. Didn't you comprehend anything I had written before? They'd BOTH went over my qualifications! They'd both screened me; they'd both interviewed me! What more do you need to know? Point: they knew what they'd hired when they'd screened me. interviewed me, and went over my qualifications. Did I mention the guy looked shocked when  he saw a black woman walking through their door?

I am curious to ask was this job offered as a temp or permanent position? Playing the race card like previous statements is just plain offensive. I find that you constantly saying you have never applied for a job you were not completely qualified for a little suspicious. We are sorry you were not offered the position however, shaming their company with the race card is harsh. I really do think you need to grow up and move on. Clearly your rants and raves have fallen on deaf ears. Good Luck to you.

"Orlando's Best" just proved her ignorance!

#9Consumer Comment

Tue, May 22, 2012

Right to work? REALLY? You actually think "right to work" gives you the right to a job? You just proved your absolute ignorance..

Let me explain "right to work" for you. The "right to work" law, is actually nothing more than union busting lesislation, in reality.

Here's how it works.

If you work in a place that has a collective bargaining agreement in place, commonly known as a union contract, "right to work" simply means that you do not have to join that union or pay union dues or initiation fees in order to get the job, or keep it. AND, even if you choose not to join the union and pay dues, you have the same protection under that union contract as the dues paying member, hence, "right to work" even if you choose to be a scab.

"Right to work" legislation was passed only to break the unions financially, as they survive only through the collection of dues. Without collectiong dues, a union will go bankrupt, and will not be able to properly represent it's members under the terms of the contract, as that cost money.

Education is the key here. Don't go through life stupid.

One thing's for sure, you've definitely hurt your chances for career advancement in the future by posting here as you have. If you want to go have a drink with your best friend and complain about the racist whitey who wouldn't hire you, that's fine. But when you make public accusations like this, you've taken things to a higher level, and you can't back out of it now. One thing's for sure, you've definitely hurt your chances for career advancement in the future by posting here as you have.

"...in this situation my race was the issue because I was qualified, so what else could it have been"

I gave you nine other possible reasons, but you completely ignored them all and continue to insist that race is the only possibility. You're not thinking, you're just reacting emotionally.

You insist that the decision changed within ten minutes of your leaving the office. Again, you have no way of knowing that.

Maybe Alexia was all ready to hire you, and someone said "Bob's sister needs a job, we're gonna give it to her instead."

Maybe Alexia had no idea you weren't going to be hired until right before she called the agency.

Maybe she's just a sadistic b*ch who enjoys hurting people's feelings.

See, there's even more reasons that have nothing to do with racism.  Ignore them if you want. I'm done talking to you, you don't want to hear anything.

As unusual as this is, I am in agreement with Steven-Jacksonville here.

You have now made yourself unemployable at both places due to this report, and possibly other employers and/or agencies as nowadays it is routine to do a web search on new applicants.

Instead of just accepting the fact that they just didn't really want you and staying positive and moving on, you chose to burn bridges with your entitlement attitude.

If your current employer finds these posts it may affect your current employment.

You really need to lose your entitlement attitude.

You are entitled to nothing.

You do not have a "right" to be hired.

Keeping a job is not a "right" in most states as "at will" employment is the norm.

If you don't like this, maybe you should start your own business, as I have.

I used to think like you.

Then I got a reality check, and grew up.

I am almost 34 years old, and I take offense to deficient accusations being that I am a woman who has responsibilities and a purpose to make adult decisions.

For your information, it was going to be reported to my employment agency in regards to Alexa's inappropriate behavior; but they didn't give that chance since they broke the news to me so fast between the time I'd left the office and the time I'd got home; which was about 10 minutes!

So you mean to tell me within 10 mins, this company had the effective time to decide if they wanted me back or not based on my work? I think not! Do you know how many people get discriminated against everyday in the workplace, or do you live under a rock?

I have never in my life--and I have been working ever since I was 14, had dealt with or made any claims about discrimination on a job. So to those of you who are thinking this is black people's 'excuse' when the tough gets going, try again

I have never been terminated from a job; I have never been unqualified for a position I had applied for; and I have never had problems with my attitude towards people. My attitude is not the problem here, because I don't have one.

Just because you all have this 'it happens; it's life' mantality, is a good d**n reason why none of you know your d**n rights. I'm not from Astonish.  The fact that you think that company cares SO much about YOU, that they would send "scouts" or whatever you called them to go against claims you've made?  Grow up.

That girls behavior was outrageous.  And like I said, if someone is behaving THAT ridiculously, WHY would you want to work for them?  Your whole claim makes you sound like an entitled b***h.

I hate speaking in color, which is why, again, if you read my response, I didn't.  At all.  Your attitude has nothing to do with your skin but everything to do with the fact that you simply feel entitled.

Here's the crux of the matter; that company for some reason, after meeting you, didn't want you.  Whether it was that girl being two faced or what, for some reason they put on the breaks.  Guess what toots, it happens.  And it's happened to better people than you.

You are not ENTITLED to anything.  That employer can go "You know what, her teeth are too white, don't hire her" or "She'll make the rest of us look bad" and say no.  Anything can happen.  Until you are officially hired on, you've got nothing.

Sure, it's crappy that Spherion and Astonish lead you on like your crap didn't stink and they all loved you yadda yadda.  Things happen.  Grow up, move on, and get over it.  You're an adult.  Act like one.

I'm glad to see you got your job back from the company you got laid off from.

I was going to tell you that every time I have not gotten a job that I felt I was qualified for that something always happened to come up that was better and I was hired.

I do not mean to go spiritual on you but sometimes when you prayed or hoped for something that fell through that there was a reason for it. Now you know why you were not hired by Astonish.

What if you were hired by Astonish and your former employer called you back. Would you have told them never mind I got a new job? Would you have called back Spherion and said never mind I got my old job back? Or would you have taken the job with Astonish only to find out later that despite the fact they may say one thing to your face but something else behind your back. What if they decided to give you a chance only to let you go after two weeks or a month (after you told your former employer no).

Yes, Alexia said what you considered to be inappropriate. The main thing is did you say that to her or is that just a reason for you to complain now.

Good luck back at your old job since I don't think Spherion will be working to place you in any positions.

I sympathize with your feelings, but you're making unfair assumptions.

#17General Comment

Sat, May 19, 2012

You felt the initial interview and first day went really well, you had a good feeling about it, then suddenly you were told you were not needed back. That's frustrating and confusing for anyone, and you have a right to be angry about that.

What you do not have a right to do is decide for the entire rest of the world what their reasons are for the things they do.

"Alexia was the only one who could have perpetuated that decision because she was the only one I'd worked with that entire day!"

This is a ridiculous assumption.

The fact is, racism does still exist. But it is NOT the ONLY possible reason for you not being hired. Unless you have the psychic power to read other people's minds you have NO WAY of knowing what happened once you left.

Here are some alternative scenarios for you that don't involve racism.

1. Maybe Alexia did not make the decision at all. maybe she just did what her own boss told her to do.

2. Maybe Alexia always treats every potential new hire this way. It's not unusual for prospective employees to be treated as if they had already been hired. It's a way to keep them on the hook and not accept another position. It may not be ethical, but it's not illegal. Businesses don't have to be ethical.

3. Maybe Alexia did not like you, but is one of those people who hates confrontation, so pretended to be friendly, not because she's a back-stabber, but because she's just too cowardly to tell you to your face. Being a wimp is not the same as being a racist.

4. From your photo it seems you're very physically attractive. Some employers discriminate against women who are too sexy or "hot" because men tend to act stupid when an attractive woman is around. I've seen this happen more than once. Heck, I'm a guy myself, I know my IQ drops when a lovely lady shows up.

5. Since it's a phone-based position, it's possible your voice was the problem. A strong accent, or a nasal or high-pitched voice might make you a bad candidate regardless of your other skills.

6. You may have inadvertently said or done something that offended someone at the company. Maybe you smiled at the wrong person. Or vice versa, maybe they decided you were too straitlaced because of your reaction to the "naughty panties" comment. Maybe they were worried about a sexual harrassment lawsuit.

7. Maybe someone at the company recognized you and didn't want you to be hired for personal reasons. Have you ever filed a suit against a previous employer? That's a huge red flag to prospective new employers.

8. Maybe they ran a background check or credit check and found something they didn't like.

9. Maybe there was another candidate for the position who was better qualified, but they thought was not interested in the job. If you were the second choice, then the first-choice person came back and accepted the job, Alexia might have thought you were the one right up until she got a phone call from the other candidate. This kind of thing happens all the time.

Here are nine possible reasons why you didn't get the job. Racism might be reason number 10, it's definitely not the ONLY possible reason.

I'm not saying any of these things are what happened. I'm just saying that any of these are POSSIBLE reasons, and that's why it's ridiculous to claim that the ONLY possible reason is racism.

Yes, racism is another possibility. But your assumption that it's the only possibility hurts your credibility, and your hirability, because it means potential employers have to be concerned about whether you will sue them for discrimination. The fact that you have publicly stated you intend to do that means they were right not to hire you.

The economy is rough. Lots of people are looking for work, everyone has to deal with rejection and unfairness. You're not the only person who didn't get the job. You're young, good looking, and seem fairly intelligent. Don't waste your time trying to get back at some company who might or might not have done you wrong.

Is it fair that they misled you? No. But there's no law that says they have to treat you fairly. You don't work for them.

Also, it's pretty silly for you to assume that everyone who criticises you is an employee of one of these companies. Obviously you've not spent much time looking at this site. If you had, you'd know it's full of nosy busybodies like me who feel the need to make their own observations on things that have nothing to do with them personally.

That is why you have the conservatives griping about you and using their boilerplate terms like "entitlement" and "play the race card" which are terms they've learned from their conservative talk radio pundits. Some of them honestly believe that there's no such thing as racism. Others are extreme racists themselves who are trying to belittle the notion of racism because it makes it easier to hide their true colors.

Obviously they're wrong, but arguing wth them will get you nowhere, because it's basically a religious argument, not a logical one. You're young, beautiful, and intelligent. Don't get caught up in stupidity like this. And if you want to be successful in the business world, do not make a reputation for yourself as a troublemaker. That is the kiss of death for a successful career. Take the high road.

I cannot read? Do you really want to go there? Angry black woman? Really? Is that what you people label someone who stands up for their rights? I was well qualified for that position and the fact that I was told by my employment agency who'd told me Astonish Results thought I was fit for the position-- (REMEMBER ASTONISH RESULTS WERE THE ONES WHO'D INTERVIEWED ME; AND THE FACT THAT THEY'D BROUGHT ME ON),is enough to debunk your claims that I wasn't qualified. If you're going to come at me with lame rebuttals please save yourself the time and embarrassment.

Secondly, of course Alexa was two-faced if she sat there all day and told me how much I was going to like the company and job and then at the end of the day when I left, it was reported to my employment agency that Astonish Results said they did not need me to return. Alexia was the only one who could have perpetuated that decision because she was the only one I'd worked with that entire day!

Third, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that these rebuttals are coming from Astonish Results themselves. Saving face much? It would be highly unlikely for someone who's not in relation to your company to take so much interest in this report and write out the essays displayed here.

There was nothing I did that entire day that would have caused for Astonish Results to not want me back other than my race. I was qualified, and pre-qualified by both Spherion and Astonish Results before I'd even gotten the job). Everything they needed to know was on my resume; we discussed my qualifications in both interviews with Spherion and Astonish Results. So try again!

I am far from bitter because my track records with my past positions are solid. My production and work skills are top of the line; and I never apply for anything I know I am not qualified to do; so once again, try again!

I may not be entitled to that job, but that doesn't stop me from reporting the obvious reasons why they did not want me back. I was polite, I smiled, I laughed, I was prompt, I was groomed well, I was qualified, and I conversed with my trainer. I did everything a job would want an employee to do.

My former company I was laid off from previous to Astonish Results, contacted me yesterday late afternoon, to put me back on schedule starting Monday. I am a believer that great things happen to great people like myself, and everything happens for a reason. I do not know the owner of Astonish results (saw pictures of him and other big wigs in the company); but I do know that they have an unprofessional individual (Alexa Toscano), working for them. You don't train people and show them texts from your bf what shows sexual content. That is a case on it's own!

Funny how these rebuttals did not mention the inappropriate behavior of Alexa. That's how I know you Astonish Results employees are running like scattered rats. Racism still exist in this country and in the workplace; all of you are fools to think black people always play the race card when in most cases it is because of our race.

There was no "discrimination" from a legal standpoint.

It appears that you are just an angry black woman who is used to playing the race card to your advantage.

You obviously have a chip on your shoulder against white people.

First of all, you are 'entitled" to NOTHING.

So lose the entitlement attitude.

You do not have a "right" to any job.

The employer is free to fill that poistion with anyone they want to fill it with.

Maybe they saw you for the angry black woman you really are.

Either way, there is no discrimination case here.

If they would have told you that they were not going to hire you because you were black, then you MIGHT have grounds for a lawsuit.

Maybe.

And, your employer was the staffing company, by law, NOT the people you interviewed with.

However, if you want to persue this, there are some things you need to do BEFORE a suit can be filed.

You MUST start with a written complaint to the USDOL, and then wait approx 6 months for them to investigate, and then IF and only IF they find your rights were violated, they will issue a right to sue determination letter. You then have 90 days to get your case filed.

It's funny how people from "minorities" seem to go to racism whenever something happens to them that they don't like.

Here's a story about racism for you:

At the company I work for, we had a black guy.  He worked with 3 other people.  One Yemen, and 2 Mexican.  One day he decided to quit.  His reason for quitting his job was that the people he worked with were racist against him.

I feel like the fact that you can't read is probably the reason you may not have gotten hired.

He never once stated that he worked for EITHER company.  He was simply offering up suggestions.  However, if you'd prefer to continually blame everyone else for your short comings and act entitled like you are, please feel free.  Keep it up.  See how it works out for you.  Continually calling the potential employer "two-faced" seems like you're more personally angry at HER for not being super, duper sugary sweet.  Not everyone will kiss your behind.  Most won't.  Never mind the fact that if she was as unprofessional as you say, why are you so bent on not getting hired anyway?

I don't know how it is in your state because it's not important to me, but I know in my state we are an "at will" state, which means you can be employed for 10 years, your supervisor could get up one day and decide that you looked at them funny and fire you.  No questions asked.  No reasons need to be given.

Maybe the entitled attitude you have is the reason they decided not to chose you.  Just because someone looks good on paper doesn't mean they work well in person.

Take the other comment into consideration.  Sleep on it.  Calm down.  Stop blaming everyone else.  It didn't work out.  Get over it.  Does it suck?  Sure.  Is it crappy of them to do that?  Of course.  The best revenge is success.  So get out there and get a better job than what they can offer.  Get on with your life.

So because I was not a direct employee of your company gives you the leeway to treat subcontracted employees with a two-face and act as if they had the job just to turn around and tell their employment agency they WASN'T right for the job? Okay, I get it. Now THAT was a fail.

I was contacted by my employment agency today in regards to this report I'd filed here on Rip-off Report and she explained the situation of the matter from their end; that was before I read this rebuttal. But I do not think it's fair that someone could be let go without even given the chance to see if they could actually do the work! Some employers take this 'Right To Work' law to an advantage.

I wasn't even put on the phones nor did Alexa let me get on the computer to get into Outlook and see if I was capable of actually doing this; she had nothing to lose by doing so; I was in training! To me, that was a phony move. I told the lady from my employment agency when she'd called me today, that I understand what she had explained to me, but to me, that was only covering my employment agency, not what you guys had done.

Retracting my conversation with my employment agency today, I am still up in arms about how fake this Alexia woman came off and the disturbing stories about her boyfriend and her panties in a professional workplace!  I am no expert here, but I am sure that is deemed inappropriate verbiage in a workplace.

To Astonish Results defense though, everyone in the workplace seemed nice but Alexia was the one I had contact with and she was the one who acted like I had the job. She was even telling me how I will see much more about the company when they come in town and do meetings and stuff.

To Spherion: I am sorry, but I was told this report cannot be removed due to consumers protection rights. And to be honest, I'd just realized it need to be seen so this will not happen to anyone else. If this puts me in jeopardy with your employment agency, so be it; but it does not give the right for a company who's contracted through any employment agency to act as if one of your clients have the job and turn around in the same breath and know they have you as the middle man to get rid of people they don't want with no real valid reason.

To dispute the rebuttal above in regards to having experience in Outlook was one of the reuquirements; when the lady from Astonish Results interviewed me, she knew everything about my work experience from what I'd told her and from my resume. It clearly states on my resume that my skills, were typing, MS Word, and phone skills. So they knew upfront that I had no experience with Outlook and still wanted to bring me on; so what does that tell you: I was let go for another reason and only
Astonish Results know the answer to that.

Tara I am sorry you had such a bad experience but you are setting yourself up for a fall if you think you can file a discrimination suit against Astonish Results.

First off you are an employee of Spherion and not Astonish Results so there goes the discrimination lawsuit right there.

Second... Any kind of skills required by the client are subject to change. They may have ASSUMED that everyone they will see is familiar with Outlook as an email program and not really specify it as a required skill.  Did they go back to Spherion and add it on after the fact? Do all candidates for this position now require a certain level of knowledge with Outlook? What is the level of that knowledge (I.E. expert, intermediate,).

Since your uncle is a lawyer I am pretty sure he will tell you the same thing I just did.

You should probably go back to Spherion and see if they have any other opportunities available for you as well as any kind of training courses you can take to learn about Outlook.

By threatening lawsuits or even just posting something like this may tend to have cause Spherion to have second thoughts about contacting you about other positions.

Just food for thought. Take a deep breath and get a good nights sleep and start looking again tomorrow and maybe see if Spherion can help you with any free training.

Astonish Results are racist pigs

I'd contacted my local employment agency (Spherion) to find work, and I was told they had two open telemarketing positions for a company called Astonish Results; (a digital marketing group who builds virtual websites for insurance companies to increase their businesses and revenue). Upon my inquriy I 'd submitted my resume which clearly stated my years of experience in customer service (8 years); and  due to my extensive experience, my local employment agency thought I was a great candidate
for Astonish Results.

My uncle is a lawyer and I will be filing a discrimination suit against this very fake company of fake people with smiles on their faces and wearing two faces.

Alexia gave me no hints that I wasn't right for the job, in fact, she assured me that I would be back to work and they
would have my laptop ready!  I cannot stand phony people, and the people at Astonish Results are phony.
