My wife bought a tablet a few months ago from Office Depot. When she bought it she also bought an insurance policy which was sold to her on the basis that the tablet would be replaced if it broke or stopped working.
My wife accidentally dropped it and the screen cracked a couple months ago and she followed instructions and sent the tablet to Asurion Company so that she could get a replacement tablet. About a month later she got a gift card for Office Depot for $99 which is far short of enough to buy a replacement tablet.
Then, yesterday, I got a call from somebody who bought the broken tablet on ebay. The woman who bought the tablet was worried that the tablet might be stolen because it still had personal information on it including my name and number, the emergency contact person for my wife.
So, not only does Asurion Company not replace the items they insured, they resell broken items with peoples personal information on them, an invasion of privacy.
