The dating service Atheist Personals offered a $1 trial membership that would be charged a monthly recurring charge of $27.87 if it wasn't cancelled before the end of the trial period. I cancelled before the end of the trial period and was told I would not be charged the monthly recurring charge. I was charged the monthly fee.
I sent Atheist Personals an e-mail on 4/17 requsting a refund and got it. (Atheist Personals Help Desk Ticket #899747) But on 4/18/16 I was charged for the membership again!

In an attempt to get Atheist Personals to refund a charge of $27.97 to my checking account that it was not authorized to make. I called their "Help Desk" at 800-770-2715 to get a refund. I called the "Help desk" at Atheist Personals THREE times!
In the first call the Customer Service Representative (CSR) said that I should call my bank to verify that the deduction that was made had actually been made. I called my bank and they said yes my account had been charged the $27.97. I then called Atheist Personals a second time. The CSR would not let finish my sentences to explain that the charges had been made to my account. The CSR hung up on me.
I then called them a THIRD time and got the same run around that I had on my second call. The CSR repeatedly said that their system did not have a record of the $27.97 being deducted from my account. Yet, the online statemment from my bank and an employee of the bank both said the charge had been made.
The CSR sent me an e-mail saying that the previous charge of $27.97 had been refunded and it should be credited to my account in 7 to 10 business days. That charge had been refunded. My complaint, that I had to call about three times today (4/19) was the deduction made yesterday (4/18) that the CSR could not find in their records.
For what it is worth the "Help desk" for Atheists Personals is in India. Calling there with a cell phone does not get a good connection, at least my cell phone didn't.
