Don't waste a second with the bums. Fixed income tells me maybe you're not working and have time enough to go to small claims court and stick it to them.
Get whatever you need from Hyundai to show the dealer never paid the lease off.
The salesman may have stuffed the payoff money in his pocket. Dealers claim this all the time when situations like this arise.
Let the arbitrator or judge show them what's up!
Do it fast, before any more grief comes to you from Hyundai and make sure Hyundai has anything they need to at least know you're not trying to stiff them. Maybe they can abate your obligations to them while this is hashed out in court.

and contact the Investigative Reporters at all of your local News stations in your city too. Maybe one of them will help you and expose the dealership on T.V.
Make sure to send your Attorney General copies of all of the information by certified mail and also send an email.
Good luck to you!
