AT&T ripoff Requesting Payment Of A Bill That has not Even Been Put On Paper Yet, Stopping The Only Communication Between A Incarserated Mother And 4 Year Old Daught Grants Pass Oregon
I Do not use AT&T as a carrier Because of their known Rip Offs, Unfortually I have a Daughter that is incarserated at a Oregon Prison in which does use AT&T for the inmates to phone out.
My daughter has a 4year old baby girl in which we have all worked really hard to make sure that they at lease have some kind of contact though the phone calls. My daughter has been there for four months now and has been calling me collect to talk to her baby. We have made sure the bill was paid in order to keep the connection between mother and daughter.
My local carrier is Qwest in which my bill comes from. The AT&T charges from the prison is on that bill. My Bill is paid in full and nothing owing. I recieved my new bill from qwest on march 8th and the due date is by March 21st. The next day March 9th I get a phone call from a messaging service from AT&T leaving me a message saying my phone has had a block put on it keeping the calls from the prison coming in. Now get this I call AT&T and ask them why and they said cause I owed my phone company 358.00 in which I told them I do not. I called my phone company and I am paid up, I then asked AT&T how much I owed them due now and they are paid off. They said that my April bill had around 100.00 of calls from the prison in which I told them i'm very aware of this and the bills are paid so what is the problem. They continued to argue saying I owed my company, I told her she was crazy and she needed to contact my carrier. She said if you want the block off I needed to pay the 358.00 plus the 100.00? of the April Bill now and they would take the block off.
I said why do I need to pay a Bill for April when it is not even on paper yet? So now that breaks all connection my granddaughter has with her mom and this is not healthy for the baby. She is having a hard enough time with the matter as it is. So it boils down to AT&T stopped all connection a Mother And Daughter had for a Bill they want to collect that isn't even printed on paper yet nor has it even been billed yet. Is this legal and most of all I know it isn't fair. So if you don't want to be ripped off then please stay away from AT&T!!!
