For future reference, almost all body jewelry stores have a NO RETURN policy if the jewelry has been opened. It is unfortunate what happened to you, but mopstly for health reasons, taking body jewelry back is not usually done. Using alcohol won't help anything; any jewelry (or other supplies) that has been anything but sterile MUST be autoclaved. Many pieces of jewelry can't even be 'claved. Again, it is unfortunate about your situation, but common sense should prevail here. The company should just eat the loss and refund you since you were told that would happen, but how could you think they would take back USED body jewelry, even at the word of an incompetant sales girl? This sounds like a rather unsanitary establishment anyway... letting customers TOUCH the jewelry? Disgusting.
