Auto Module Source Richard the Salesman lied about product being refurbished, Steve the manager also lied on several occasions Davie Florida
The website & salesman Richard lied about the product being re-manufactured, the particular module has louvers where a flashlight can clearly see the dust inside from being inside another vehicle. This is a ECM module from a 1995 Dodge Ram. The circuit board is encased in a rubbery substance that over the years splits and cracks. It has several louvers where a flashlight can shine inside seeing every square inch of the rubber gel inside the case. Very clearly this had not been disturbed since it was new in 1995, the gel was split and cracked from age, it was covered with years of dust and had not been disturbed or even cleaned inside the unit. There would be evidence had the board actually been removed.
Steve, the manager continued to lie saying they access them from the bottom to solder. There is no bottom to access. Steve also said the module board encased in rubber is removed then soldered. No. Clearly the module had not been touched since 1995, the year it was manufactured. Then Steve agreed twice that he would fully refund the full amount of $599. as I insisted that since I was lied to by Richard and the information on the website that I should not be required to pay the shipping, yet they still kept $20 for the shipping. This company scams people. I would be willing to speak to the media about this incident.

To make things clear: Richard is the salesman, Steve is the supervisor, Maggie is the manager. I spoke to Maggie today. Both Steve and Maggie have New Jersey accents, people relocate, but it makes me wonder if they are even out of Florida. Maggie is very insistent that the ECMs are remanufactured, I was insistent they are not, nor is the one I purchased even refurbished. I told her to go open it up and see for herself, because if she believes that then she is being lied to. She spoke as if she had great pride in the product, she said they put these on an engine to test everyone of them and she said that she tested the one I returned and she said it tested fine, so I asked Maggie, "You actually have a 1995 Doge Ram engine with automatic transmission?" She said something about a computer with all of the attachments. I couldn't help but think that this is one clever scam operation.
Maggie also said that she read my BBB report, (there are many reports of Auto module Source being a scam operation, I should have read that before doing business with them), she insisted that the contract is binding, they do not refund shipping costs. She also said that they have a lawyer in office and she checked with him on it and it is binding. Whenever a company requires a lawyer to be on staff and in office is a clear sign they are not above board. I spoke with the manager at AMMCO Transmission about this company that he referred to me and he said that he often suspects the ECM's from Auto Module Source are used, (not remanufactured, not refurbished) AMMCO often gets bad ECM's, they send them back and the second one has always worked (so far), which means that either Auto Module Source does not test them, or their testing equipment is faulty. Auto Module Source is a shady operation. If you watch the movie Boiler Room, then the staff at Auto Module Source ooze confidence in the product they sell just like the scammers in the movie.
When I suggested to Maggie that I might sue them over the $20, then in her New Jersey accent said, Go ahead, I would like to see you sue us over $20, go ahead, I would like to see you do that. This is the treatment customers get from Auto Module Source management, no apology, nothing. I'm just lucky I got most of my money back, some people on the BBB reports don't even get that.
