Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I went to Autosmith, Union city Ga, to purchase a vehicle. I saw the vehicle I want and they told me its available and was approved by their bank after about almost 3 hrs there. I was told to put down something/anything to hold the vehicle[ so it can be taken off the selling list]. I put something down and they verbally promised me the vehicle is mine and asked when I will come back the the rest of down payment. We worked out a schedule of subsequent payments which they agreed to. Now having done all this, no paper work was signed between us yet [My big mistake, but looking back it was planned this way from their end- I have no doubt about it looking back now], to make all this binding and legal from their end. I understand that, but did'nt make much of this as I thought these men were true grown ups and gentlemen of their word as they would not have taken my money if they were not going to sell me the car. About three days later they had sold the car and no-one even called to tell me. I have to find out after several attempts to reach my sales guy seem fruitless[ avoiding me], and I even had to block my number to reach them as he was shocked to pick up the phone to find out it was me. Someone may argue that my situation was not illegal on autosmith's part in anyway because nothing was put in writing and signed. However, what happened to me was wrong, deceptive and somehow seem planned as they knew by using my deposit to jusitify having the vehicle transferred to their location will be a 'win-win' situation for them of sorts. I hope my experience will help future buyers that whatever you are asked to put down towards/to hold a vehicle MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A WRITTEN AGREEMENT THAT SPELLS AND GUARANTEES THAT- NOTHING LESS[ If you are crazy enough to do business with them]. I guess the other shocker to me was how non-chalant the sales guy was after the incident like-' this is no big deal we do this all the time kind of attitude'. Wow!! They refunded my money but I WILL NEVER ATTEMPT TO OR RECOMMEND ANYONE I KNOW to do business with Autosmith. NEVER.

You claimto have a made a down payment with no paperwork.  You also indicate that it was three days later when you returned.  Why would a dealer hold a car for three days without the full downpayment and no contract.  Take responsibility for your actions and stop pointing at the dealer.  They have to sell cars and you had nothing in writing and did not have the full downpayment.

Stop blaming others and writing complaints, no one is responsible for this except you

So OP asked for advice, or did they just posted to report a company who wronged them??? I believe the latter.

"I put something down and they verbally promised me the vehicle is mine and asked when I will come back the the rest of down payment. We worked out a schedule of subsequent payments which they agreed to."

If you had to make payments for the downpayment, they did you a favor...you really couldn't afford the car, could you? Looks like the dealer is a sub prime (dead-beat) lender.

"I saw the vehicle I want... they knew by using my deposit to jusitify having the vehicle transferred to their location"

If you saw the vehicle you wanted then why did it need to be transferred to their location?
