AutoDesk, Incorporated Rebate Programme Is A Sham San Rafael California
On 16, May 2006 I ordered a new copy of AutoDesk LT 2007 for the cost of $800.00 from Buy.com, a reseller of various things including Autodesk software. For the purchase of this new software, Autodesk offered a rebate for the amount of $100.00. I downloaded the rebate form (a .pdf document), completed it, and mailed it to the company hired by AutoDesk to manage its rebate programme. This was time-sensitive, and had to be complete before the end of July 2006.
After several weeks I received nothing, and contacted AutoDesk through their website. After several inquiries, I received a new rebate questionairre in the mail, completed it and mailed it to the address indicated. The mailing included a postcard that said that I did not indicate the product's serial number (I surely did), hence I had to mail it again. After several weeks (now months) I received nothing, so after many attempts to contact AutoDesk's customer service department by e-mail, I received nothing. I placed several telephone calls, and was finally able to speak with a person who agreed to help me.
I e-mailed to this person all of the information, including a copy of the receipt. After a few days I received an e-mail from him stating that since I could not show proof of what I had mailed that I could not receive a rebate. Did they expect me to make a copy of the documents that I sent them? Do I have to do this for everyone to who I send mail?
Essentially. AutoDesk used a type of bait-and-switch to deceive me into thinking that I would receive a rebate. If you do business with them, realize their products are great, but for the most part there is NO customer service, and very possibly a misrepresentation about the rebate programme they may offer. am still missing $100.00.
