I have WRITTEN and RECORDED VOICE proof of all these same issues. Just a short recap of my experience with Ray. On 01-07-2006 I ordered on their website, a laptop stand which was paid for online and charged to my bank account on 01-11-2006 for $81.99. After several calls questioning the order, I finally received it on 01-25-2006. On 01-27-2006, I spoke to Ray about returning it. He gave me the same spill 'go to the website and get a "return authorization number"'. After several calls and emails back and forth, finally on 02-01-2006, I spoke with Ray and he told me to write "Ray" on the outside of it and send it back which I did that day using USPS. The package arrived at the USPS in Buffalo Grove, IL on 02-06-2006 and a notice was delivered to them [Ray & company] to pick it up on 02-07-2006. While keeping track of notices by on the USPS website, I placed several calls and emails concerning the package not being picked up at the post office. After it sitting at the post office for about 21 DAYS, it was sent back to me on 03-10-2006 and I received it on 03-15-2006. I gave up on getting my money back, even after being lied to and told I would get it back "just return it". I just threw it out in the garage because it was no good to use. I contacted the BBB (which I wish I had done BEFORE I placed the order). ANYWAY, I had forgotten about it...lessons learned...THEN TODAY 03-19-2009 - what do I get in the mail...A LETTER FROM a company calling itself National Bureau Collection Corp. stating that I owe Auto Laptop Link $91.79 and they are going to obtain a judgement if I don't pay it. "Soooooo, let's see...I bought AND PAID FOR a "so-called" laptop stand, I was told to return it for a refund which I did [return it] and they didn't [refund any money] and it was sent back to me" YEAH RAY - I'll pay you AGAIN! RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Look forward to seeing you in court.........(my attorney does too especially with my paid receipts and recordings of you on the phone). Ken Hale in Goodlettsville, TN 37072. On 03-20-2009 called NBCC - debt was withdrawn...a "mistake".

I worked for this company for a short period of time. It is owned by Ray Rante and is operated by both Ray Rante and Julie Collums. In the time that I worked there it was phone call after phone call from people who had ordered their product anywhere from 2 weeks to two or three months prior. The way it works is this company is run out of a basement of a home and a garage. Parts are ordered from other companys but the product is fabricated and boxed in a two car garage. There is a revolving door when it comes to the customer service department which is usually made up of one to two people. This person or these people are responsible for everything including sales, tracking information, shipping label making, order entering etc. When you take an order you are instructed to tell the customer a certain amount of shipping days for the product. The problem was that the product was not important enough to the company to be sent out since they already had the money. I have heard the owner and the operator of the company talk extremely rudely using any # of expleteives. I would advise everyone to avoid the services of this company at all costs including potential employees.

Although some of the claims in the report filed here and elsewhere are true... consumers are not providing full and unexaggerated truths. In regards to this particular report, I was an employee of this company, working on the day this situation occured. The office manager, Mary, did hang up on this fellow, but only after he very clearly instructed her to go to h---. But Ray never said and never would say the things accused of him here. Yes, there have been some issues with shipments making it on time, to the right location, etc. Consumers must understand that although this company has thousands of customers, they are still growing and learning the most effective ways to handle their customer service, shipping procedures, etc. And this companies credibility should never be in question... although an order may have been messed up, the company and those individuals representing this company succeed to the fullest extent to provide the best customer service experience and without fail, they have fairly handled every situation that has been brought to their attention within the time clearly stated in all policies (ie. returns, refunds, etc) Also, I believe that it is very important to notate that coming on this site cursing and fabricating these situations does not defend the consumers' credibility - quite honestly, it makes them look incoherent. And unfortuntely, these kinds of colorfully illustrated stories, negatively affects the mindsets of the employees involved, as they have worked so hard to get the company to where it is today. Seriously though, some of these authors should go into writing childrens stories... their use of amplified imagery is phoenomenal! Keep up the great work Autolaptop. Your team is fantastic and close to heart.
