My husband and I bought a 2000 Chevy Cavalier on February 23, 2008. We test drove that car and one other vehicle and were given those two choices because our credit rating is bad. We hard a rattling noise coming from the engine within a few days of purchasing the car, along with the purchasing agreement we paid a service contract that is "standard" for AAF. This service contract is when the engine needs repair or replaced that AAF will cover 100% of the cost. That is what the video and the contract stated. There are NO dates of starting or ending on our contract but according to them there is....we have yet to see a copy of their version. Every time a payment was made by either myself or my husband we told the Fort Smith office about the noise getting worse and that the oil light was staying on. We've gone several times through out the past year to have the oil changed and only 2 times we remembered to bring them the oil change receipt to be "credited" the $60 promised to deduct from our balance. I saw no actual change in the balance so I quit taking the receipts in. I have written on the receipts of when we've told the Fort Smith location the noise getting worse. Everytime we told them about it, they would tell us that the service contract portion wouldn't kick in until August of '08, when that time came, they told us that the service contract wouldn't kick in until January of this year.

Well....now the engine is blown (getting ready to....rod is knocking so loudly that you can't hear yourself think and you can't get up a hill without flooring it and still can't go faster than 10mph.) and when we called on Monday June 1st to request their compliance, I spent about 3hrs on the phone with Megan or Gabby and kept being disconnected by them, they kept saying that they were not going to cover the cost of the repair because the service contract expired!!! What!!? I told her that the local office had been told since we first bought the car, Megan got snotty and stated that we shouldn't have bought the car then....I got very ticked off and when my husband came home they kept trying to say that they were not responsible for the repair and that the local office never told them anything. He didn't raise his voice like they were on the phone, he reminded them that when we called their office instead of the local office about the valve cover needing replaced that this is a vital part of the problem and that it was their car in the first place that they supposedly said was in good condition when we bought it. Megan would try to switch him back to Gabby & visa versa. What it boils down to is they purchase cars that need a lot of repair and resell them to people that can't afford to repair them. They are ripping people that are not informed about the cars themselves. The car that we bought was book value (Kelly Blue Book.com) of about $3,500. This was after we've been paying on it for nearly 9 months. The original purchase price was $7,300 or so....they got their money and with the repairs that need to be paid for it's not worth the effort.

We filed with the Better Business Bureau of Arkansas about this and all we want is $1,500 in order to purchase another car out right!!! No more payments and no more high interest rates with a company that claims to have good decent cars or just buy from a small outfit that respects the little guy in need. DON'T BUY CARS FROM AUTOMATIC AUTO FINANCE OR JORJA TRADING INC. they rip people off!!!
