Autos of Dallas RIP OFF - DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS PLACE. FAKE AUTOFAX REPORTS. Addison, Texas
I purchased a car from Autos of Dallas in December 2011 for my daughter. Prior to purchasing the vehicle Autos of Dallas provided a CarFax type report which showed a clean history with no accidents. They also gave us a warranty they said would cover any significant issues within the first month. Within days the check engine light and other warnings appeared. We took the vehicle to a local repair shop. They said it would cost $1,800 to repair all of the issues. We called Autos of Dallas and asked them if there anything they could do. They said the warranty did not apply. They sent us to a repair shop they used and said they would give us a good deal. We spent $504 and were told everything was fixed. We continued to get warning lights so took it back. Despite our showing them the receipt from our visit the repair shop said they had never done any work on our car and there was nothing they could do. We continued to experience issues with the vehicle and spent several thousand dollars trying to keep it runing. Frustrated over continue repair bills we took the car in to be traded. The dealer showed us a real CarFax report that showed the vehicle had been in a major accident in 2008. I have been told that warning lights can be reset and do not know but suspect that Autos of Dallas reset the warning lights prior to us purchasing the car. I do not know where they obtained the CarFax type report they had but it was obviously not accurate.
