Long story short he stole 500$ from me. I called the owner from the other coast asking to see his vehicle and if the vehicle was still available, he said yes. The owner said I could put a REFUNDABLE deposit of 500$ down to HOLD the vehicle so I could see it. I made sure the deposit was refundable by asking him several times, he ensured. He then took my info and sent me email conformation.
I read through all the agreements amd his documents did mention the return policy. Basically I had 24 hours to see the vehicle or the hold deposit was his to keep. I went to the other coast to purchase the vehicle if it matched his description of course. "Great condition, paint and interior like-new" I pulled into his small lot where all of his cars were all beat up. I saw the car I was looking to buy, he had that battery plugged into the wall charging.. The paint was terrible there were dents everywhere and several leaks and noisies coming from the car. I brushed it off and asked to test drive he agreed. Before I even put the car in drive it ran out of gas.. He had no gas in the car. At this point I realized it was a scam.
Very nicelly, I told him I was not intersted he was very mad. I asked him if we could go inside and do te the hold refund, he refused. I had his contract I'm hamd but he refused to look at it! I was 19 years old buying my first car with my 28 year old brother with me. My brother asked himself for the money back but the man still said he wouldn't do it. After talking for several minutes the man CHANGED his mind amd told us he would return the deposit when he sold the car. My brother asked for his word in writing but the man refused. He told me he would call me when the car sold which would be very soon. It has been almost a year since this incednt he still has not returned my money. I call him and he always comes up with more excuses. He will face me in court.
I recommend to not purchase a car from him. His cars are falsely advertised.
