Avalon Steals security deposits from renters Rancho Santa Margarita California
I never believed that they would actually attempt to swindle me of my rental deposit. I took care of the place I rented at 111 Via Serena in Rancho Santa Margarita. But when I moved out--after painting and cleaning-- they actually stole ALL of my security deposit. To add insult to injury, I had to move out (when my lease was up) because the rat problem was so extensive. And then they tried to charge me for rug and fixture damage done by the RATS!!
Do NOT rent from this place, they steal from you at every chance. Their main offices are located in Virginia. So, even though you rent a place in California (they have many locations, so be ware!), you will have to mail your rent into Virginia. They will lose it, they will be hard to reach and they will take forever to get back to you about your deposit when you move out.
Add to all of this that they force you to have renters insurance and overcharge you for it.

This Company is notorious for discrimination and unfair practices throughout the US. Unfortunately, they are high barrier to access communities and they are buying up Orange County. There are also several complaints throughout southern california and unfortunately no one is willing to cure these reprehensible acts for the basic need of affordable housing and the corporate duty of fair dealing.
I suggest anyone who has had a problem with the following companies to call your district attorney's office and ask for consumer fraud department.
