My 20th year wedding anniversary was March 31st.

On that day I searched the internet and found a local florist (AVAS Flowers) to purchase a floural arrangement for our anniversary. I requested same day delivery and in a recorded message was told they had to locate their driver but since they were local (6 miles from my house) same day delivery would not be a problem. I explained that my wife would be leaving the house around 4:30PM. I was assured the delivery would be made before then. It was 1:30PM and I live in California.

I then placed the ordered for an arrangement that cost $100. When I got home there was no flowers, no message, no note with information about the lack of delivery. My son had been home and no flowers were delivered.

I called AVAS flowers the next day and found out I was talking to corporate which is in New Jersey. I was put on hold and hung up on a number of times. My wife called and recieved the same treatment. She final got through and was talking to someone (who repeatedly read her a script) then they found out she didn't place the order and hung up. Before hanging up they did tell her the order was placed at 5:30PM after the cutoff time for same day delivery.

I called customer service again and talked to a part time agent who was nice and offered to call my wife and apologize (which she did) She also promised to resolve the issue. She tried calling the local florist and didn't get an answer.

Flowers were delivered April 1st; we refused the flowers and were told AVAS could refund our money but would charge us a $50 resocking fee. We told them we are no paying for your mistake, we want a full refund.

After two days I once again talked to an agent and requested a manager. She told she was the manager. I explained our situation again to her and requested a refund. I was told she could refund the shipping and delivery $9 or give us a $10 store credit but other than that there was nothing she could do. I requested a trouble ticket be open for a manager to call me.

Bottom line, AVAS took my order and promised same day delivery. For what ever reason my order was processed for next day delivery. AVAS claims I placed the order after the cutoff time. They also claim they have a policy that delivery dates and times can be changed. I was charged for service that was not rendered as promised. I never would have placed the oder if I wasn't assured I would get the flowers same day on our anniversary.

I have no flowers, my 20th anniversary was ruined, and I'm out of $100.
