Averatec warranty support doesn't seem to do anything.

I purchased an Averatec 2370 from Staples about 6 months ago. Several months into use, the hard drive started making grinding noises and files were corrupt. I downloaded and ran the Hitachi Disk Diagnostic which confirmed the drive was defective.

I contacted technical support, the confirmed the laptop was under warranty and had me send it in. They said they'd send it back out in 7-10 business days after receipt.

A month later I started writing them, trying to find out where my laptop was. Their online issue tracker confirmed they'd received it and diagnosed it as a bad hard drive.

After several emails, I finally heard back from a rep saying they were out of hard drives (?!?) and expected a shipment soon.

It's now been over two months with no sign of my laptop coming back. Stay away from Averatec / MSI Computer
