Banfield is the worst place to take your pet.
First, they try to push the "Wellness plan" on you and if you don't sign up, they harass and harass you until you do. Once you've made it clear you absolutely will not sign up for the plan, they act like they don't even want to see your pet. The "Wellness plan" is how Banfield makes all their money. They wouldn't push it so hard if it wasn't a big cash grab for them. They don't even let you cancel if your pet dies. That's just despicable.
Second, any veterinarian with one ounce of talent or morals wouldn't step foot in there. The vets Banfield employs are the ones that are either fresh out of school, or are so bad no other place will employ them. They don't even try to hide the fact that all they care about is upselling from the minute you walk in.
Third, their prices are way out of line, with or without a "Wellness plan". This site and others are full of complaints about their prices. Sometimes their prices are 2-3x's what other places charge.
The best advice I can give someone about finding a vet is to stay away from Banfield and find one that doesn't endorse Science Diet. Science Diet is a slightly below average food at best and it's sold at a ultra premium price. No vet that has your animal's best interests in mind would ever suggest a dog food with corn as the main ingredient along with a food that has so many red flag ingredients. If a vet is selling/endorsing Science Diet, they care more about money than your pet. They are either ignorant or greedy, period. Not that I'm overly concerned about food, but it's one way to know before you walk through the door if the vet is about animal care or getting as much cash from you as possible.
