After being cheated by every Bank I used over a 45 year time, I moved my account to a credit union, Main reason was it was literaly at the driveway leaving my apartment complex, It was simply too convenient to ignore. And yes it was there when I was at another BANK.
As a result I NEVER had ANY problems, and when I moved (Another City) I looked for another credit union, and found one nearby.
To date (8 Years) I have NEVER had ANY problems at either credit union, and I highly recommend them.
ANY, AND ALL OF THEM. They are better run, and both a hell of a lot friendlier, and personal, no machine minds, just people doing a d**n good Job.

Now maybe you see the main problem Bman. The OP had a problem with this particular bank that is most likely related to poor bookeeping and sub-par customer service. I seriously doubt that the US government has plotted to steal this man's $700 in order to cover a web of lies and corruption that dates back to our founding fathers. Does that make sense to you? How is that helpful at all? No, my post is not designed to help the OP solve his/her problem, but I don't claim it is.... It's ridiculous that you think you can come in and post a bunch of nonsense that I believe is designed to mislead desperate people and to confuse the issue. He's hijacking other people's complaints to push an extreme agenda and attempt to spread panic and fear... that does not deserve respect. Look at his posts, he offers ZERO solutions!
If you really want to stand by your mantra that only "helpful" and "empathic" posts should be made, then why are you responding to me at all? Could it be because you disagree with my post and want to get your comments in about it? Don't you dare try to criticise me for doing the exact same thing you are doing...

I must ask Karl the magnificent then..how is it a "prediction" here in 2007?..when it was predicted much earlier on other sites?? Just 'GOOGLE' it..anyone can. Did you?
Dr. Doom
By STEPHEN MIHM
On Sept. 7, 2006, Nouriel Roubini, an economics professor at New York University, stood before an audience of economists at the International Monetary Fund and announced that a crisis was brewing. In the coming months and years, he warned, the United States was likely to face a once-in-a-lifetime housing bust, an oil shock, sharply declining consumer confidence and, ultimately, a deep recession.
Seems a "web bot" predicted it in 2006 before it was predicted here in 07...
Even more remarkable is a series of predictions made back in late 2006 about the coming events of late 2008 through mid 2009. Although these predictions may or may not pan out to be completely accurate, it is interesting to evaluate each one based on its own merit and relationship to the times in which we live. The following is a breakdown of these predictions.
- October 7 2008 to February 19 2008 will be filled with emotional intensity
.- In October Global emotional release event begins largely economic.
The rest of the world will begin to seriously question the stability and reliability of the U.S. dollar.
- Catastrophic collapse of the dollar is possible as the language is active around that concept.
The Web Bot foresee consumer society confidence collapsing by mid November 2008. This could be a direct result of the recent government bailout and failure of several large financial institutions in the U.S. along with the devalued U.S. dollar and the increased cost of living.

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO HAVE A BANK ACCOUNT WITH ALL OF THE CROOKEDNESS GOING ON WITH THESE PREDATORY FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS TODAY.
I AM EXPECTING ANOTHER BANK HOLIDAY LIKE THE GOVERNMENT CALLED IN THE LATE 1930S DURING THE DEPRESSION. YOU SHOULD TALK WITH SOME OF THE OLD TIMERS UP THERE IN OKLAHOMA WHO REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS LIKE, UNLESS THEY ALL FLED TO CALIFORNIA.
I AM NOT SURE THERE ARE ANY REPUTABLE BANKS. I WILLINGLY PAY 1 PERCENT CHECK CASHING CHARGE INSTEAD OF USE A BANK. THEY ARE BASED ON PONZI GAMES ANYWAY.
I AM NOT SURE WHAT THIS KARL PERSON HAS TO ADD OF VALUE WHEN HE RESPONDED TO YOUR POST. A LOT OF ANGRY WORDS AND NOT MUCH HISTORY SCHOLARSHIP AND STUDY TO BACK IT UP. MAKES NO SENSE AND IS NOT EVEN RELEVANT TO WHAT YOU HAD TO SAY.
BE VERY CAREFUL WHERE YOU PUT YOUR MONEY. I THINK WE ARE ABOUT TO GO INTO THE SECOND HALF OF THE DOUBLE DIGIT RECESSION WHICH I THINK IS MORE RIGHTLY CALLED A DEPRESSION...
THE PEOPLE WHO COULD NOT GET THEIR MONEY OUT OF THE BANKS IN TIME DURING THE BANK HOLIDAY IN THE 1930s LOST IT. ALL OF IT. MY LATE MOTHER SAID HER RELATIVES NEVER GOT ANY OF IT BACK I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE IT WENT OR WHO GOT IT.AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE PROPERTY THAT THE BANKS WOULD HAVE HELD THE LIENS ON EITHER.
DON'T PUT ALL OF YOUR MONEY IN ANY ONE BANK AND I WOULD START TO GET IT OUT. PAY OFF EVERYTHING YOU CAN. DON'T USE CREDIT CARDS AND PAY CASH.

How have you, or I, for that matter, helped anyone in this forum when the REAL issue is the person feels as if they have been robbed by a bank business. Indeed it seems robbery is a part of doing business today which is what Karl in his own way wishes to reveal. Since you are using a knee-jerk reaction instead of critical-thinking (i.e., being fair minded) I wonder if you can really UNDERstand either Karl or the person that is wishing to reveal bad business practices - yes, you are definitely lacking empathy. Karl points out that the problem is documented and systemic and people must get mad about this abuse. I stand by my position. And as for Karl, he is what he is, and he is doing what he can. I would rather read his eccentric writing than read your personal vindictiveness directed against him. Since you "know better" - act better than the person that you criticize in this public business related forum.

Explain to me exactly what kind of empathy was shown in copy/pasted google links? He posts the same exact thing on every report he posts on and I seriously doubt the intention is to help the person who launched the complaint. What advice did he give? All it is is conspiracy theories and fear-mongering over the banking industry. What we have lost here is common sense and intelligent thinking. You can think my comment is less helpful, that's your right. It wasn't intended to help anyone... I'm merely voicing my opinion that if this guy thinks his google crusade is helping anyone, he is wrong.

It is sad that people on this site lack empathy and express
anger towards someone that tends to be preachy, yet in his heart wants to help
in the way that he can. Some of the dialog is misguided, yet here is an
opportunity to help guide his dialog. I do not see his thesis as a doomsday
scenario if the facts back up his claims. I have taken the time to review some
of his sources and they are quite informative. The poetry doesn't work I agree
with many that post given the forum, Yet he has demonstrated a desire to help
and this has shown empathy for the pain of others. For the commenter that tells
him to go - that is not helpful. Indeed it is less helpful than what they criticize
in Karl. They are being just as preachy, and are more so, since they think they
speak for everyone and correct Karl for the same. The idea behind free speech (and
democracy) is that bullies (despots) have no place in a serious conversation
unless they are willing to share and grow together. They can shout but we do
not have to listen. I believe at the base of all the complaints in this site is the fact that many businesses today lack empathy and are scamming those that can least afford it. It is the one thing that we have lost which is why most customer service isn't a service for anyone except the company. Something has been lost that needs to come back. I am appreciative of the wonderful well thought-out comments that are peppered throughout the site.

Perhaps I am a fool to even pay any mind to Karl...but this disruption and discrediting of service on this site should be looked into. Since the operators of this site seem to ignore it...it is up to us..
Complaint: A $700.00 transfer has not completed and it's been 3 days.
Karl says...
"is that there were 829 troubled banks in the 2nd Quarter, and Bank of
Oklahoma may have been one of them. This could be the reason that you
experienced a problem, right?"
Many people and businesses are "troubled" right now. There are over 8,000 banks. So if aprox. 10% are troubled....those are actually good numbers. Aren't you the one who predicted the economic crisis? Did Nostradamus have to use the terms "may" and "could"??
But regardless,,does this info help the poster in ANY way or offer recourse? NO...it is just a doomsday scenario sad sack loser blame everyone and conspiracy and do nothing but google attitude. An attitude of a LOSER...oh..and a nut job.

When you are done with Karls mole in the holes or whatever...you should simply do as you stated in your report. Once the transfer is complete...close the accounts with that bank..and use a better bank. Just make sure to ask the next bank what their policies are for funds transfers or
if you have your account disclosures, look under the title "Funds
Availability" and Reg. E transactions.
A wire transfer only takes seconds...well how fast does electricity travel??? Almost the speed of light. However it typically takes transfers I do from different banks...one business day. With the same bank it is almost instant. It should not take more then two business days no matter what.
Why this bank has already taken 3 days is beyond me. Maybe they wire by pony express?
