I was called and told that I had formal litigation pending in regards to a debt opened in 2001 for $7,916. They couldn't tell me what the debt was for other than that it was a line of credit.
When I told them that I was still in high school - I didn't even graduate until 2002 - and unemployed in 2001, they told me that someone had been paying, so clearly it was a debt I knew about. I repeated that I was a minor and so it was not my problem.
They told me that I would be receiving a summons and a judgement on my credit report if I didn't pay the $7,916. I repeated that I was a minor and I had never heard of their company; the man told me that was fine if I wanted to ignore the debt, I'd be sued for the amount and a judgement brought against me.
I have never had a line of credit or any type of account with a company called Bank One or Commerical Credit.
