Barrel of Monks Brewery Groupon Scam Boca Raton Florida
Barrel of Monks offers a Groupon for a bewery tour, beer tasting and a souveneir glass for two people and states that it's a 56% discount off the retail value of $45.
The wording of the Groupon:
* 10 oz. draft beers of your choice
* Commemorative 10 oz. snifters
* tour of the facility
and the proported retail value suggests that you would get more than one small glass of beer (not even 12 ounces, which is what a bottle of beer contains). The tour of the facility is free for anyone, so basically they are claiming that a 10 oz. glass of beer and the snifter retails for $22.50 per person!! When I contacted them to get a price breakdown, Eric Scheffer e-mailed me: "We do not sell the 10 oz. snifters and tours are only provided through Groupon." This is false, because when we used the Groupon, we were the only people on the tour using a Groupon!! Beware of this so-called 56% deep discount Groupon.
