I understand the time difference between the original poster (2007) and my comment now, will probably not mean much. However, I did have a problem with Bashas #3 at about the same time concerning some expired 35mm color film.
I went into the store for the purpose of purchasing some Fuji 800 film for my camera. I noticed that the only film available was expired. No problem. A little color shift from expired film can be corrected at the process level. I was hoping to maybe get the film at a discounted price. I approached the customer desk and asked the courtesy clerk behind the counter if I could speak with the manager. She appeared to be "bothered" by my request, but knocked on the managers door and an elderly woman comes out (her name escapes me after so many years). The courtesy clerk and her discuss something and they blow me off and just walk past.
No acknowledgment of my presence at all.
I wasn't there to complain but to make a purchase. A call to Bashas District office did zip.
I took my business to the Safeway, located catty-corner from #3 and noticed it was like day vs. night. The personnel at the Safeway were more receptive to their customers needs and wants. I mentioned my just previous endeavour at Bashas to the Safeway clerk. She just smiled and commented that other customers had suffered some wrath at that same Bashas.
To this day, I refuse to shop Bashas.
It's ironic because one of my first jobs in the working world was as a Courtesy Clerk...at Bashas #3.

I had the mis-fortune of working at store #3 as a Deli Clerk. not due to the deli, but more so Mr Mondavi on a power trip from hell. He is an un-professional ill-ethical manager whom his credentials and training remain un-verified. I attempted to transfer but HE "LOST" my transfer papers. Advice : Ask for one of the other managers. Michael is on the ball with his duties. He should be the store director and Dave should be termed.

I know Bashas all to well. Mr Mondavi is a fool. This guy has about 3 years of experience in retail and he B*llsh*tted his way to a management position. Shows how well the upper management is good at picking talent.
