Bay Brook Sleep Specialists aka DurEquip Services offered a sleep study and lied to me about health insurance coverage. Before agreeing to do the sleep study, I asked them for "out of pocket" expense that I would owe. They asked me for my insurance information and Jorge Rey Clinical Coordinator called me back and said, "We have good news for you, Mr. _____, your health insurance covers this sleep study in full. You will owe nothing ($0.00)." I confirmed that with the person Sean Rophail who scheduled the time for me to go and that at the clinic I was told it was 0.00 charge for me since my health insurance would cover it. When I went in, I signed a form stating it was $0.00 that I owe. They didn't give me a copy of the form, but I took a picture of it with my phone camera just in case. Later I found out from Aetna's website that Bay Brook Sleep Specialists are billing Aetna $12,716.40 for my sleep study, and Aetna says they will not pay the full amount because Bay Brook Sleep Specialists is out of network which means Bay Brook Sleep Specialists lied. They also had me sign lots of forms that contain blanks as if they are going to fill in the information later. They didn't provide any costs for services. They just said it's covered in full by insurance. None of the forms mentioned any cost at all; only that I will owe $0.00. I asked them what a particular form was about and the guy doing the sleep study didn't know, but that I needed to sign it. All the signs of a scam and yet I did not see it coming because I was really needing someone to help me with my night time breathing problems. I was vulnerable and trusted them and they flat out lied to me.

This is a shame and it's very deceptive, dishonest business practices. I just hope the word gets out in time to save others from getting conned. Also I noticed they use different names in their business like Sleep Specialists of the Woodlands sleepwoodlands.com and Pinnacle Sleep Center www.pinnaclesleepcenter.com and one of the clinical assistants named Sean Rophail had this name as the company: DurEquip Services and then the name I was told was Bay Brook Sleep Specialists. One of their reps: Courtney called me twice and the first time she identified herself as being with Bay Brook Sleep Specialists, but the 2nd time she said she was with DurEquip Services. Something is off about this company and they billed Aetna $12,716.40 for this sleep study; that's an outrageous amount to charge and to hide this cost from the patients is disturbing and wrong.

At this point in time, I have not been given a bill, but I want to be pro-active and set the record straight that this company lied to me and said I will owe nothing. I am just sensing this is fraudulent the way they lied about health insurance coverage and hid the costs from me on all forms I signed. Again only stating I owed $0.00 but there were a lot of blanks on those forms. I'm afraid they might try to fill them in later. I got pictures with my camera phone at least showing what they left blank. I did this just in case they neglected to give me a copy of the forms. In fact, they did not give me a copy of the forms I signed. I had 3 different employees with Bay Brook Sleep Specialists tell me my cost is zero dollars; Jorge Rey, Sean Rophail, and Liz (don't know her last name). As a representative of Bay Brook Sleep Specialists this is disturbing to say the least.  Further, it is at best an inflammatory and inaccurate accusation.  We would be happy to educate this person if they would like to reach out, however, as stated in the complaint we have actually performed all services agreed upon for the amount agreed upon.  Our goal is to provide quality patient care at all times, and this includes being empathetic to the financial aspect as well.  We will continue to honor our agreements and move forward as a growing, honest, and successful company.
