I remember Tony, he made it through the Career Services to BCES transition. Then suddenly was gone. There are also articles about what BCTI has done to its students/staff in Oregon. The Oregonian newspaper has had several good articles, you can read at oregonlive.com, search archives for BCTI. I'm surprised about the Tacoma campus. The school is pulling out of Oregon (for now). I am wondering if they are trying to get around investigations by closing campuses, then waiting to later open new ones. A large "for lease" sign is over the Beaverton campus. Its not the plywood over the windows I was hoping for, but good enough.

Not all of the former leaders at BCTI are tight lipped. I remember Tony Curry who was the Director of Career Services in Tacoma was fired because he posted something on here last May. They fought his unemployment and even took him to court over things they fabricated. One of the people on his own Career Services team even betrayed him by making up lies. Considering the class action lawsuit and the investigations by the federal government it looks like those who BCTI preyed on (students and employees) will get their vindication. I also read in the newspaper in Tacoma that the management company for the Tacoma campus property is suing them for unpaid rent for 4 months. The total sum is over 50K. There is now a "NOW RENTING" sign outside the Tacoma campus location.

Joie, I was transitioned out late last year as well (our campuses common term was "moved on".....everyone 'moved on'). Don't feel bad, BCTI tries to fight unemployment for everyone that 'moves on', and its 99% for not meeting numbers. That is why mandated goals were rarely attainable. I would imagine that financially they would have to with all the turnover. It often seems there is no logic to the incessant cutting of good people. I made it through the be re-organization cuts back in May for career services, too on 3x the previous work load...worked very hard at the new expectations, and was cut at end of summer for failing to meet impossible numbers. My fault was my inability to get graduates to accept and sign for their fast-food job as being a TRP.......that and not being able to 'place' graduates who were literally IN prison at the time. The only reason I put up with this (with a smile) was because I kept chasing the ever-moving carrot infront of me. The simple fact is that BCTI "leadership" takes advantage and misleads everyone. Students, the biggest victims get it the worst. You are right about not getting answers, for fear of losing their jobs everyone is tight lipped at BCTI and won't acknowlege the white elephant standing in front of them.
