Cal Food & Gas - Beacon Station Bait and Switch Prices ripoff Sonoma California
Large sign, bright red letters 3.44 9/10 per gallon. All pumps state the price is 3.44 9/10 per gallon. You swipe your ATM and start pumping and the price jumps to 3.51 9/10 per gallon. Shut it off and talked to the attendant - he pointed out they had stated a Cash vs Card price. He pointed to the very small letters above and to the left of the prices "cash" - while driving too hard to see. Another sign was at the back of their lot, in the shadows that could not be seen from our direction, read from the street or was blocked by their overhang. This smaller sign that showed Card prices. Our teenager couldn't make out what it said it was so small. They are ripping people off.
Most pay attention to the number of gallons and the total spent - they don't look to see that the "cost" being charged matches that advertised or present on the button they select.
We will no longer purchase anything here.
