Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My little brother who is only 18 and in college bought me a gift certificate for my birthday.$ 55.00 for a facial, I had forgotten I had the cert and its been a little over a year.I called Mamta today to make an appointment for my much needed facial only to be told that

My gift certificate was expired because its over a year. So what now, do I get my money back, No.?Can I get a facial, No.? I asked Mamta to kindly ask her Boss Crystal Flora, who is a stylist and owns the salon. The salon's name is Beautiful Options Salon, but is under a DBA (doing business as) Name of Catalyst Salon. Mamta told me that Crystal said that no I could not use the gift certificate.

I work at a law firm and handle Legal Binding Leases and Contracts for a living, so naturally The first thing I asked was If they had that in writing because its written no where on the Gift certificate and no where was there terms and conditions specified with the envelope

And other services they perform with Mamtas name on it. She said they will not be honoring the gift certificate nor would a refund be issued. Consumers beware. I would never recommend this salon to anyone as the customer service is horrible, and

They are obviously so hard up for money that they refuse a customer with a gift certificate that could

Have given them more business in the future.

To Whom It May Concern:

I am the owner of the Beautiful Options Salon in Northridge, California. Im writing this letter to have you remove an untrue and slanderous post from your website about me, my hair stylists, and my salon.   Unfortunately, the woman did not post her name along with her comments and I do not recall her name from my conversations with her.  However, I can tell you that it is only negative comment posted about me, my stylists and my salon so it will be easy for you to identify the post.

Allow me to give you the background information, so that you can see why I am making this request of you.  This woman called me about a year and half ago and said that she had a gift certificate for a facial.  Because our stylists are all independent contractors, it is our standard operating procedure to verify the authenticity of certificate by asking the recipients of gift certificates who gave the certificate to them and who from the salon endorsed the certificate.  When I asked her these questions, she said that the certificate was given to her about 3 years ago and she doesnt remember who gave it to her and couldnt make the name of the person who endorsed the certificate.  I then asked her if she would email or fax me a copy of the gift certificate and I would look it up in our records.  At that point she began to get irritated because of my request and I decided to transfer her call directly to our facialist, Mamta in hopes that maybe she may have more information available to verify the certificate and then be able to set up an appointment.  Mamta looked through her records and didnt see anything that matched up, so then she too asked the woman to send a copy of the certificate so it could be verified.  At that point this woman began angrily threatening our facialist with legal action.  Mamta then transferred the phone call to our Salon Manager, John.

Since we are in the customer service business, John made an effort to make this situation better by offering her a complimentary hair cut/blow dry in addition to the gift certificate or a refund of certificate  facial services but he said that the certificate did need to be produced.  She was very receptive to Johns offer and apologized for over reacting.  To this day the certificate has not been produced.

We then learned that she had filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau

.  At no time was this woman denied services, just simply told that she needed to produce certificate so that we could verify it and then set up an appointment.

She stated that a gift certificate was given to her from her little brother, but on the day she called, when asked who provided her with the gift certificate she stated that she did not remember who gave it to her. I then asked who signed the gift certificate and she did not know that either until I told her my name. I asked her to please send it to me so I could review it and make the decision to either send her money back or give her credit.

My former partner also spoke with her, and offered her a complimentary hair cut, and blow dry for the misunderstanding and she agreed. However, she has never until this day been able to produced the gift certificate or has come in for the complimentary hair cut/ blow dry that was offered.

On another occasion she called and spoke with our facial lady to set up an appointment, stating she had this gift certificate. Also she stated to her, that the gift certificate was issued almost 3 years ago. Our facial lady simply asked her who had signed off on the certificate, being as all the hair stylists are independent contractors and within the past three years a few stylists have come and gone.  She wanted to make sure who was the person who received the payment and if she or he was still around. When she was told this she started screaming and yelling that she was going to acquire a lawyer and sue.

This woman has slandered my name, my salon, and my stylists with the same post on seven different websites. I am a person who believes that everyone should have their opinion and it is always good to hear them especially when they are a fact! However when I tried my very hardest to accommodate her, and make things right, she refused and was never able to produce the gift certificate. Im saddened to see that she felt the need to go to 7 different people/ websites to plead her case, when you are right you need only one. Also, I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau about removing this post from their website. They wrote her and she did not reply, and so as a result they were more than happy to remove the complaint from their site.

I am requesting from you today to please remove this slanderous post from this woman, as I have done everything in my power to rectify the situation. It would be greatly appreciated as it is affecting my business very unfairly. I thank you in advance for your prompt reply.

Sincerely,

CF
