Thank you for signing up for a Trial of Mineral Elements All-Natural Mineral Make-Up. Your order was shipped out to you today, 11/17/2010, via USPS First Class Mail. Please allow 3-5 days for delivery. Your Tracking ID is 9101148008600394334525, click here to track your shipment. An invoice receipt is listed below; please keep for your records.

You have made a great choice in selecting Mineral Elements! Mineral Elements is a light, all-natural make-up that your skin will love. Mineral Elements lets your skin breathe while letting your natural beauty shine through.

As part of your Trial, you are automatically enrolled into the Mineral Elements Beauty Club. Club membership includes receiving automatic shipments of 2 foundations (in the shade you chose at sign-up), 1 veil and 1 bronzer -- each consisting of 2.5 grams in no-mess, compact containers every other month at a members-only discounted monthly Club price of $29.41+ S&H (S&H is only billed on the month the product is shipped) -- a SIGNIFICANT SAVINGS OFF of the normal retail price. While being a member of the Club will save you time, money and offers more convenience, you are not obligated to participate in this program. View the complete Terms of Offer. If for any reason you decide Mineral Elements is not for you, or you are not interested in the Club and receiving automatic shipments, simply cancel your membership.

If you have any questions about the product or your membership, please contact Customer Service online, or by phone at 1-866-299-0507.

Sincerely,
Mineral Elements Customer Service

Thank you for trying Mineral Elements. We hope your use of the All-Natural Mineral Make-Up was a pleasant experience.

We have received your request for cancellation. Your account has been canceled and you will not receive any future shipments in our club program.

To avoid further charges for your trial shipment, or to return your most recent club shipment for a refund (less shipping and handling), you must follow the procedures described in our Returns and Refunds Policy to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number to return the product.

If you need additional assistance, contact Customer Service by phone at 1-866-299-0507 or online.

Sincerely,
Mineral Elements Customer Service

Note: To make sure that our e-mails are not filtered into your 'junk' or 'bulk' folder, please add our domain to your list of trusted senders. This information is very important, as we need to keep you informed of your order.

No "RMA number" can be found anywhere on or in the shipment.  Failure to cancel or failure to return the trial shipment results in charges as high as $130 a month.  The company sets up barriers to disenrolling that no reasonably diligent person could meet.  The fact that a customer who agrees to receive a free sample has also agreed to be enrolled in a lifetime of monthly shipments is NOT revealed anywhere on the company's web site where the offer appears.

What to look out for...

What I read a lot about..is people tend to blame the internet for this...when these same scams were around 30-40 years before the internet was even a thought. Mail order scams.

I am not leaving this reply to belittle you in any way, but to offer some advice that can help others avoid this.

1) no such thing as a free trial
2) anything that claims it is a trial, has something stated in the fine print that explains you are authorizing a charge, and much more then you expected, and usually enrolling in some kind of monthly payment membership.

I went to the website you left the address for. Pretty looking website. It does say "trial", but nothing about free so I would expect a charge regardless. Plus I imagine they had you submit account information. Right under the picture it says...

Note: Customer may have to pay nominal non-refundable trial, processing and/or shipping and handling fees at sign-up. Customer is responsible for shipping costs on all returns. Please view the Returns and Refunds Policy for other restrictions that may apply.

On the very top it has a few links..one of them says "Terms of Offer". I am pretty sure if you read that before doing anything else, you could have avoided this mess.

I hope for your sake this site is legit. Most of the time they are not really looking for a long term business relationship or expect to be around very long..the products do nothing or are of poor quality, or products never arrive..and they are just looking to scam you by hoping the consumer thinks something is going to be free...it NEVER, EVER is. Sometimes you can get refunded but as you see now, they do not make it easy..expect to be jumping through a lot of hoops. If you are persistent and this company is not 100% fraudulent, you have a chance for a partial, or possibly a full refund. At least they have a phone number (if it works), most of these sites do not yet the consumers submitted account information before looking for it.
