I put in an order to bedbathstore.com. After I ordered and paid, I got information that my order would be shipped in 2 to 3 days. There was a tracking number. I started checking on the 3rd. day and it still said was due to be shipped. I tried to contact them at their phone number. All I got was a message saying their customer service voicemail was not available. So, I sent an email, to which I never got a reply.
However, as soon as I sent the first email, I did get an email from their website thanking me for doing business with them and saying I could fill out a survey about the service, which I did. As this went on I sent another email, and noticed at the top of the page after you click the conatact us button, it says that they're experiencing high volumes of email, so it may be a while before you get a response. That tells me that this happens ofetn. It also says to make sure, if you're calling about shipping, that you check to see when your item will ship, because some things take 6 weeks to ship.....unbelievable! But, my item said 2 to 3 days.
After the second email, I checked the tracking for about the 6th time, every time it said they had no such shipping number, but the last time it started saying that the post office had received an electronic statement that there would be an order shipped with this number, but they hadn't actually received the package to ship and couldn't confirm when/if it would be. So, it still says that and I've sent quite a few emails and phone calls and no response. I believe it's just a way to get money and then they possibly try to get the item and ship it out at some point. But now I don't just worry about that order, but the fact that these people have my credit card information really bothers me! If they are this kind of organization, and by the way, they've already taken the money out of my bank for the order.
But I'm really upset that it's looking like I fell into a site that's really one of those that you have to worry about. I would never tell anyone else to order from here, and I really hope something gets done about these people. I'm not that educated about these kind of problems on the internet. I've always had good results, so this one is probably going to make me think again about ordering from anyone other than the well known companies. Which is really bad for the little guys who do a good business. But, like evryone else, I have to watch my money these days, and I won't throw it away on this kind of scam.
