Received order on 12/6/06, wrong size, emailed and received return authorization # as per their policy. Package sent back on 12/7/06 via UPS; tracking showed package delivered on 12/11/06.

Return policy states it takes up to 14 business days to process for credit and will email notification when completed. Waited patiently with consideration to the holidays. I called and left 2 messages on their voice mail, after repeated attempts to get a human on the phone had failed on 1/4/07. Their advertised busniness hours are M-F, 10am-5pm, which leaves an extremely small window of opportunity to contact for those of us that work 10 hour days and don't have access to taking care of personal business at work, and the business does not call back on your only day off during the week. So I emailed them 1/7/07, with the information of what was returned, return auth #, date received via UPS, information found on their website for a non-restocking fee for that particular item, and the amount I expected back that included their freight charge included (amount due back to me is $136.01). As of 1/13/07, I have had absolutely no acknowledgement of any of many attempts to contact this company. I'm frustrated that a business of this stature conducts itself in this manner. I've done alot of business over the internet over the years and I've never, never encountered a business like this. I want my money back and nothing more to do with this company.

I am not sure but sometimes the wrong size could be the way someone measures. Now I have a king bed. But because I have a pillow top a 9" will not fit. I need to use the 15" mattress covers. Now with the king I have two twin XL box springs. those are 9" each. and sometimes the sizes are just a hair off because most of todays prodcuts are not Made in the United States. And they use Metric. I am glad you got your refund. I would state to them I would get Fox 5 NY on them and place them on "Shame Shame Shame" See how fast they do not want to be on the news. I do understand if there is a heavy demand for money back, but if you do business over the internet, you will have a very large volume business. They do have a street address so I know its not a scam. If you use Google checkout, it takes longer and even with paypal it takes almost a month to get your refund because the store does not have that information. Most people think that once the info is in the store has it already. But they contract with Paypal and Google Checkout. Those are the ones to ask for a refund or policy. Store has to get the ID number then the order number, then the credit card number and faxed to the store. Sometimes it could take longer depending on the Googlecheckout or Paypal. And how busy the company that takes care of returns. and Paypal and Googlecheck out Outsource, I am not sure, but believe that it out of the country.

Bedbathstore FINALLY acknowledged my request

I finally got a response on 1/22/07 via email and my refund was given on 1/24/07. I'm very relieved to have my money back, but I'm still unsettled with their business practice. Did this occurrence evolve from my report here and/or my report as well to the Better Business Bureau, or did they finally take care of business from 12/11/06(the date they received the product back at their store). Also when I made my report to the BBB I discovered there were many complaints against this company. Lesson learned: check on reputation of company before ordering pricer items, deal only with national chain stores, and read return policies before ordering so you don't get stuck with restocking fees and their return shipping fees.
