I will keep this simple.

Had a water heater installed 1.5 years ago.

I called them yesterday for repair under warranty. They tell me to go to water heater manufacturer for replacement. (The tank is supposedly warranteed by the manufacturer.)

However, this text is directly from their website:

* Electric Water Heater - Lifetime seamless blow-molded polybutlylene tank, guaranteed not to leak.

Well, it's leaking.

Bottom line: My agreement was with the plumbing company, not the manufacturer of the water heater.

They are a BBB Business Ethics aware winner for 2007.

Anyway, that's the bottom line. I would go into the phone calls and me begging for them to honor the warranty...but it's just not worth it. This company is no different than the others.

Benjamin Franklin Plumbing has been helping me and my family with all my plumbing needs for over 5 years and i did have a few warranty needs, they never gave me any problem with standing behind their warranty. In fact that is why i recommend them to my family, because they have always treated me so great. This report showing them not standing behind their warranty is wrong, I personally have needed them and they asked no questions and helped me out. They do the service, when parts go bad, i know they did not manufacture the parts, but they as a service company stepped up and helped me out as a single mother, that is what i need.

I called you 8 times. The first 7 times, I was ignored as you did not call back. The final time, I was told to go to the manufacturer. The offer that you're giving now is *after* I had to fix the water heater myself (with help from my brother)? You didn't want to work with me when the water was flooding my workout room. Too little, too late. I have no interest in working with your company further. This is what happens when you mistreat your customers. You only have one chance to make things right. As for not having a record of me...you don't know who I am based on the report so you can't make that claim.

Thank you for your report, we are happy to honor our warranty, as we have for over 20 years in the valley. We have no record of you contacting our company or the work the report says we completed. We know there are a lot of plumbing companies in our area, and they don't all work the same, people do mix up plumbing companiy names. Any water heater we supply, we work directly with the manufacuter warranty, that is one reason to purchase plumbing products from us, we will also work with all manufacutres that we don't directly purchase from, if they will allow us to work with them directly. I don't know if you realize some manufacuters, only work directly with homeowners to build a reputation with them, but we will try to be on a three way phone call to help the homeowner out or do anything else we can. Our warrnaty for every job is located on each invoice and I would like to honor our warranty with you, I suggest that you contact me with your address and inovice number of work we completed, asap, so we can properly work with you, on your concern. Just to add on, the following is posted on their website as well: "Plus, all repairs are guaranteed for 2 full years. If a repair fails, we'll redo it ABSOLUTELY FREE." http://benjaminfranklinplumbing.com/world/cms/yourrights.html That is a pile of rubbish.
