While searching for a new job, I came across a position that was data entry/work at home. Pay was good, and I just had to send my resume to a woman named Janice Powell. I emailed my resume and a short note.

Two days later I recieved and email from a Mr. Benny Moore from the UK about this position. Asked a few short questions about why I wanted this position, etc. The first thing that tipped me off was that one of his questions read "What do u understand by petty cash"? I thought this was an odd question and poor use of grammer, but gave the benefit of the doubt, answered the question and emailed back.

Two HOURS later, I recieved another email saying "Congratulations you have the job"! Now, if he is in London, one - their is a 6 hour time difference and two - I'm thinking no phone call, could he have checked my references so fast? The email went on to say how I would be making $35 per hour and they would be sending a laptop, printer, scanner, etc. As well as a check for funds to purchase additional equipment.

There were no phone numbers in this email, no way to contact anyone if I had questions. There was a short paragraph about how the companies web site is currently under going construction. However, I Googled the company names "Corporate Computers Inc" as well as "Pan-Canadian Computers Inc" and found nothing. He also stated in the email that the company was listed with the "Greater Britain Business Association" which I also Googled and their is no such thing.

Finally, after really becoming curious now, I Googled the gentleman's name "Benny Moore" and that lead me to this web site and a write up from a woman who experienced something similar (same Benny Moore with the same address in the UK I was given, which by the way does not exsist) to what I have, but she had been take for $2900.00!

Thank you Rip Off Report for saving me before I got scammed!!! I promptly copied the page on your website and emailed it to Mr. Moore.

I too had the same exact experience. I applied to the job via email as directed with my resume. I then recieved an email stating that my resume was being reviewed but I needed to complete a few questions and send the responses back. ************************************** Interview Questions *Have you ever worked from home? *So why do you want this Job? *Are you taking this as a primary or secondary job? if secondary explain why? *Do you have professional Reference which I can go through? *Will you be able to devote 20 hours of your time to Amazon Computers Company? that is 2hrs at least daily? *Have you worked as an Online assistant before? *Do you have a printer, fax machine and a scanner? *Privacy and code of conduct....explain the phrase? *What do u understand by petty cash? *How would you describe your self? *Do you know your clerical speed?what is it? *Do you have an idea of how to use ms excel? IMPORTANT: Send in Your Full Name, Address and Contact Phone number along with your response so you can be contacted. I sent the response, and in the mean time, began researching to find Amazon Computers, Inc and Pan Canadian on the internet. No luck. I then searched for Benny Moore and found this website. A couple days later I recieved another email welcoming me to Amazon Computers, Inc. I responded immediately with a declination and a copy/paste of this website's information regarding "Benny Moore". Things were quiet for about a week, and then this morning I checked my email and had recieved a letter apologizing for the delay in my application "ready for startup". There is a tracking number, and directions how to handle an envelope being sent to me with money for software. Also, directions on how to use Western Union. Two names were mentioned in the email: one of which is from Nigeria. I immediately responded back with another declination letter and got on this site to file a report.
