I got a Best Buy Credit Card to take advantage of the "no interest" purchases. If you are looking to review your bill quickly on the HSBC webpage, you are often sent to a page to set up your preferences when you sign in. This page does not contain all of your current preferences! Most importantly, your billing preferneces... It automatically selects "Electronic Billing". If you want to quickly move on, DO NOT click "Continue" if you want to continue to receive a bill!

What I am dealing with is not geting a bill for 2 or 3 months and getting charged $58 in late fees, interest charges and deferred interest charges totalling over $86. I did not receive a bill due to there deceitful page and, consequently, did not make a payment. I argued that I had not even received an electronic bill, but they said I did (WRONG).

My background? I do not pay interest on credit cards. My credit rating is way over 700.

HSBC would not even consider that this had anything to do with them (as I spoke with their "off-shore" customer service center). They said they would take off one late payment of $39 as a "courtesy". (Send me a bill as a "courtesy")

I pay my bills by paper invoices, although, had I received an electronic bill, I would have known something was wrong.

They have also confirmed that they have hit my credit with delinquencies.

Angry!

You stated the system tricks you into choosing electronic billing. How? I think you just didn't read. Why would one want to "quickly move on" when dealing with a credit card account? You also stated you were charged late fees because you did not pay your bill. Did you think your bill just disappeared and that you did not owe for those months? Come now, if your mortgage payment or your car payment did not come in the mail would you just not pay them? Of course you would pay them, you have wonderful credit - you would've called and said "I did not receive my bill in the mail" and they would've corrected the issue right then and their. Because they're not going to accept the fact that for not one, but TWO months you did not pay. I think they were more than fair giving you back one month of late fees. Sorry, no ripoff here. You have no one to be angry with but yourself. Case dismissed.
