Took computer to be fixed at West Covina Best Buy. The service employee promised to back up data (for a $60 charge), wouldn't let us wait for it. Promised again and again that information would be copied. Service manager (that knew me from previous visits) said "they never lose data".

Failed to back up data and then erased hard drive for no apparent reason. The managers admitted fault and apologized, stating they would do anything to compensate me. Then sent us to talk to Janet Knox, incompentant lawyer for Best Buy in another state. She puts us off several months and then sends a letter of lies on reason for not compensating for loss of data. States basically we are lucky she will refund the $60 fee. She claimed it says that they will not back up data on contract that I signed.

How contradictory is that. It states at top of job order, BACK UP...we paid for back up, they verbally promise they will back up data. They were never asked to erase the data on the hard drive.

They don't back it up, and they don't pay for what they lost.
