I was issued a refund from Best Western Corporate 2 months later. The hotel itself was unwilling to do anything about the situation. I will never stay at that specific hotel again, however, Best Western itself retained me as a customer.

I left out the fact that they charged me the full price for one evening for the rental of the room, despite the situation at hand, and the fact that I ended up checking out about 30 minutes after I had checked in.
