February 26, 2015 I purchased a 2.0 ct VS2, color F diamond engagement ring from Beverly Diamonds
After receiving it, I noticed several problems. The side diamonds scratch my fiance and the big problem was that it looked small and had a crack in it, as well as, cloudy. While waiting for FedEx return label to ship back to Beverly Diamond, I took it to a jeweler. Young's jewelry store measure it at 6 mm across the table (top part) and said this is between a 1 and 1.25 ct diamond. A 2.0 ct diamond should be approximately 8 mm across the table.
I returned the ring back to Beverly Diamond and then found them to be avoiding questions and not providing me with the documentation that I requested. This made me distrust them and do more research. What I found was not good
This is not the only site that says the exact same story.
I refused Beverly shipping the next engagement ring because they had not provided me with the specifics of the diamond I was told about and shipped it without my knowledge. I contacted American Express and told them of situation and they put the charge as a dispute. Beverly Diamond provide receipt and an appraisal of diamond and American Express sided with Beverly Diamond. The problem is that Beverly Diamond provided an appraisal from DLA. This company does not exist and the original appraisal sent to me was for $20,351.78. However, the appraisal that they sent American Express was for $5,349.78. for the exact same ring from the same company and signed by the same person. (see attachments). The date and report number of both appraisals are the same, yet the appraised value is $15.002.00 less. How is this possible?
At present, Beverly Diamonds has my money and engagement ring and will not return my phone calls. I also have the email exchange between them too. Several times I called only to be told that a manager will call me back. However, to date no one has returned my phone calls. In addition, Beverly Diamomd does not carry the setting I ordered and still will not refund my money.
