It is illegal to accept post dated checks. The vehicle is not yours until you take posession of it. Place a stop payment on the check just in case they actually do try and run it. 22,500 is absolutely to high for a 2002 truck. You should only be paying around 18,000 depending on the mileage that is why your bank won't finance it. you can get a brand new silverado for 22,500 after rebates and and discounts. Just stop payment and don't worry about it the truck is not yours. Go to another chevy dealer and you will get a new truck for the same price. If they do try and run the check contact an attorney and believe me YOU will win. THE SALE IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL YOU TAKE THE VEHICLE OFF THE LOT! This is even if you have signed all of the paper work and even if financing were to go through! They were absolutely ripping you off.

I just bought a used vehicle from the same dealership last night--just before their closing time. We signed about twenty forms with absolutely no explanation offered on any of them. We were only given a copy of the bill-of-sale, which upon closer scrutiny the next day includes an additional $489 for "customer service". I'm going back tonight to get my explanation.

LBC I work for a car dealership before and if you did not drive the truck off the lot you don't own it. even if you sign the paper work. Thats the bottom line! Don't let them scare you.
