My credit card company is currently investigating the charges ($717.00) these people charged to my credit card. I was scammed too after receiving the same letter stating I was "nominated." Then the telephone interview from Cindy where I was "accepted." I questioned the validity of giving them credit card info without a written statement but stupidly I agreed to the gold $589.00 membership and the $99.00 plaque (which included the round trip plane tickets, etc.). Then I get a faxed statement for $717.95 with shipping charges, a "no refunds" statement and an additional charge of $199.00 to be charged to my card on the 15th of the next month. All of this was not explained to me during the interview. I called immediately to cancel the order based on the additional unauthorized charges. I called three times and left messages on three different voice mails which all said they would call back within 24 hours. The next day I received a call from Carolyn who became very defensive and informed me she could not cancel the order, I would have to speak with her manager. Then Sandra C, the "manager" calls who oddly sounds just like Carolyn and Cindy. She was unbelievably rude, even using foul language, interrupting me and arguing incessantly. She offered to remove the shipping charge and the mysterious $199 charge. I told her I did not want to do business with her company at all. She said it would take two weeks to get a refund and I informed her I was not paying in the first place. She continued to argue with me until I finally hung up on her. I called my credit card company immediately. Three weeks later Biltmore Who's Who sent me the "Welcome packet" with a bill for $589.00. I sent the whole thing back with a note saying this purchase was unauthorized. Then the credit card bill came in with $717.95 charged to my account. I called my credit card co. and the customer service rep I talked to on the day of my conversation with Sandra no longer worked there and they had no record of the charge not being authorized. In the mean time, I've canceled my credit card and I've lost a lot sleep. Interestingly, my husband recieved a letter from Cambridge Who's Who just a few weeks ago. The body of the letter was word-for-word identical to that of the Biltmore Who's Who letter. Same "free listing" claim, the whole nine yards. I'm so angry with my credit card co., myself and the fact that this company is getting away with this. A complete scam. I'll fight this to the top to get these people to stop ripping off the public.

I worked for this company in hollywood fl on sheridan street in the bank of america building. HORRIBLE job!!!!! I was unaware that you could make money selling vanity and arrogance in a book!!!!! I cant imagine PAYING hundreds of dollars to have my name in a book that i could put on my table to show anyone who comes over my house. Its DEFINITELY A SCAM!!! yes. funny though how the people who fall for it are trying to SEEM important. Never really doing anything to EARN having their name in a book. anywayz.............i digress.....

It sucks that companies like this make it nearely impossible to work in phone sales. even if your working for a reputable company with a great offer, there will always be the suspiscion from consumer  that your trying to rip them off! I have worked for a few great companies, whos product i believed in.....and as a result i did very well as a sales associate for those companies.

if you know your offer is legit and has value.......you sell with confidence. either way......i worked for the biltmore for about 2 weeks.......i cant relate to NEEDING, so badly, for people to think im special......the need for admiration.....i cant understand buying some bogus book with my name in it, just to try to look cool....so i couldnt sell the dream.........thank god.

i wouldnt want to rip people off....and really even if the book came and the coustmer was satisfied....its still a rip-off because I would be depriving someone of knowing what it feels like to EARN HAVING YOUR NAME IN PRINT.

but yea....BILTMORE WHO's WHO SUCKS!!!!! and they never gave me my check!

I am so glad the association I am apart of warned me! The minute I received the e-mail and went to check the website, my alarms went up! I then went to my groups page on Facebook, and posted if they had heard of it. Within minutes people responded that it was a scam and not to do it! Whew glad, I dodged that bullet, I would have been furious.

And I believe this response to the report is a person part of the scam that is still trying to continue thes cam. So sad, that you have to rip off people to make money! All this energy they're putting into scamming, you could really be doing a legal business. I don't get it!

I read all of these complaints & Im sorry that soo many people have had the feeling that they are getting scammed, but like any National networking organization there is a membership fee & they let you know that if all you want is the Honorary Mention like the Whos Who Among American High School Students its free, but like that whos who there is NO way to get to know or network with anyone in it! I met the Executive Director of the Meals on Wheels in S.E.Florida through Biltmore & as the V.P. of the Elks a national charity organization I through them a Luau last year where part of the proceeds went to their organization & I plan on doing it again this year & inviting the other people Ive met thru Biltmore to come have fun and KNOW that the money will be going to a good cause. Sounds to me that most of these people dont belong to any organizations where you have to pay dues???? Just sayin
