Deposit:

I deposited roughly 10,000USD of BitCoin into Bitgold a few months ago, to use the debit card service and hopefully ride the price swing of gold.

I found out that while they do not tell you this, you cannot use the debit card with a bitcoin deposit. I basically forgot about the money. Since then gold lost value and I wanted out.....this bring us to three days ago.

 

Withdrawal Attempt

I decided to withdraw my money, the only option available, Bank Wire - to a bank in my name, the same name on the account.

I just got home and I have an email from this company:-

"In adherence with our KYC (Know your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) policies, we require additional information to verify the activity on your account. At your earliest convenience, please email [email protected] with documentation that demonstrates your source of funds, such as an income statement, tax receipt, inheritance proof form, bank statement, etc.

If you have any questions, our Support Team would be happy to assist!

Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you! "



Ok, no problem, but then I saw another email from them:-

"Hello (name),

Your redemption was rejected.

Please contact our support team [email protected] or visit our Support Center to resolve this issue.

Kind regards,"



So they've asked for proof, then a few hours later rejected it without getting any response? That is very strange. Then I see a third email and my world collapses:-

"Your account has been disabled

Hello (name),

We have disabled your account.

Please contact our support team [email protected] or visit our Support Center to resolve this issue.

Kind regards,"

 

Phone conversation with company

I try to log into my account and there is no account, email support it says. I can't quite believe my eyes, this is when I look this company online and find reports this has happened to others.

I'm going to call them I thought, maybe this can be resolved when they realize I'm a real person. Then it gets worse. Here is how the conversation went:-

1.) When will I get my money back? "The account is with the compliance team, I can't give you any information until after the review".

2.) Ok, but after the review is the decision to allow me to receive the funds or just keep my money? "I can't tell you that."

3.) Are you kidding? There is a possibility you will just steal my money?! "I can't give you any information, the review will decide this."

4.) Do I need to contact a solicitor about this, because I know you operate within Canada and if I can prove the source of my money you cannot legally steal my money in this way. "We will let you know the result of the review."

5.) When will I get this result? "I can't tell you this."

6.) What about a time frame, a day, a week? "If you don't hear from us then you can call us."



They basically told me that if they want to, at the end of their review, they can decide to steal my money if they so chose to. This is for no reason at all, this is my first withdrawal attempt, they have all my documents already.

This is my severe warning to anyone considering using this company, maybe you won't put 10,000USD in the account, maybe a smaller amount - but there is no amount of money that you can be comfortable having stolen from you.

This company have no morals at all and I am going to make it my personal mission to warn people about this company.

I bet the Bitgold representatives won't even respond to this.
