I have used Black River Floors several times over a period of years.  I have had nothing but excellent customer service.  I am a designer and had a customer who needed very hard to find white maple flooring to make a repair.  Nothing else would do.  Black River spent about 2 weeks researching and finally found what I needed from another company.  The flooring arrived in a timely way, it was beautiful and a perfect match to the existing flooring.  

Had they not helped me out in an extraordinary effort, my customer would have spent thousands more to replace the flooring in the entire huge space.  The wait during the research period paid off big time for my customer and I was deemed a hero.  

Over the several orders I have placed with this company, I have had not one complaint and not one unhappy customer..  I will be placiing a new order with them in the next two weeks and have not a worry in the world about it.  Wood is a natural product and nature sometimes includes a few defects.  Always order 10% more than you think you need to cover any issues.  I do this with all such products and the customers are reasonable enough to understand why it's needed.

I have bought cork flooring from Blackriver flooring on two occasions and I'm about to put in a third order.  I do not have any complaints about the company.  Their customer service has been prompt, courteous and accurate.  Shipping dates were exact. 

I was very happy with the quality and price of the maple flooring I bought from Black River.   Based on my experience, I would have not hesitation in recommending them.  My pre-finished boards were 100% perfect (I bought Prime grade), but it doesn't seem like that is a reasonable expectation in general.   Most building materials purchased in quantity do have some defects and it would be conventional to have a buffer to account for that.  With a wood floor, it typically isn't a huge deal if you have a few defects because you can cut around it and use the remaining pieces for edges, hallways, or closets.

I am a Black River Floors client of several years (since 2004). I have ordered thousands of dollars ($12K plus) worth of Brazilian walnut and tigerwood from this company. My sister also ordered high-end flooring from Black River Floors as well as other friends of ours with million-dollar homes. ALL OF US have been extremely satisfied with Black River Floors. I am a 5-year client and will be ordering more tigerwood from them in the near future (summer 2009). I have dealt with Matt, the owner, personally, as well as Kevin, and many other staff. They have ALWAYS given me the best advice on flooring, their prices are outstanding, and delivery has been on time, and the product is in outstanding condition. Not even a nip on the box by the shipper. I HIGHLY recommend this company as they have always done everything to make my purchase a positive experience. I have had one transaction (~250sq/ft prefinished hardwood) with this company. I placed my order through their website and via telephone and received very courteous service. Everything was explained clearly and I was given very good information and sound advice regarding shipping. My shipment arrived in a very timely fashion (I live around 600 miles away from them). As for the quality of the hardwood, I am a licensed carpenter, and just like every other hardwood manufacturer out there, there were a very few pieces that had small blemishes, but nothing that wasn't easily included in the 10% waste. Actually, I found the product to be very nice to work with - very little warping or twisting. As a matter of fact, the reason I happened upon this Rip-Off Report is that I just googled Black River Floors with the intent of placing another order.
