I was referred to Blue Harbor Auto/Blue Yield by Credit Karma for the refinancing of my vehicle. After careful deliberation, I went through with the process which ultimately turned out to be to my dismay. I intially applied with them online on 9/9/2014. The re-fi process moved rather swiftly. They found me a much lower rate (2.9%) with Kinecta Federal Credit Union in California. I accepted. By 9/15/2014 the refinance process was done and they had supposedly overnighted a check to my previous lien holder, Nissan Motors. An email confirmation was sent to me from Blue Harbor stating all of this. It told me to allow Nissan 10 business days to process the check and close my account.

I waited 11 business days. In the meantime, the new lien holder, Kinecta, had sent me a statement for my first payment. Before making the payment, I checked my online accout with Nissan and saw that no payoff had been made by Blue Harbor, like they claimed. I then called Nissan just to verify.They told me that no payoff had been made and they had never even been contacted by anyone regarding a payoff or a re-fi.

I then called the credit union who told me to call Blue Harbor. I called Blue Harbor twice and got nothing but the run around. I was first told that a manager would call me back. Nothing. Then I was directed to someone in the re-fi department voice mail. Meanwhile, I am still on the hook for payment to Nissan and the credit Union!!! From their various bad reviews, I'm sure I won't get any help from Blue Harbor.
