We contacted BMR to build a roofed Patio cover. They used different work crews to do each legion-the framing, the roofing, the painting, etc. None of the workers spoke English so there could be no communication when there were problems. The site supervisor was not on site and only came after several calls. The workmanship was very poor. The Ledge that was attached to the house to support the cover roof was not even secured to the house structure 4x4s. The side of the house looked like Swiss cheese from all the failed attempts to find a stud and their lag screws went all the way through the wall and made holes on the inside walls . These had to be patched and the wall repainted. I questioned the placement of the lag screws and actually had the city inspector who had originally passed the structure inspection come back out. I ran sticks into all the pilot holes in the house wall and proved that only 2 of the 10 lag screws where actually seated in structure. the city inspector called BMR and one of the owners came to the site. He arrived with a whole lot of attitude. BMR was told to redo the lag screws. A BMR worker came latter and put more screws in. He again drilled pilot holes all over the exterior of our house trying to find a stud. Apparently they did not know enough about general construction to locate one stud and then use a tape measure to find the next 18 inch on center point. After all that I asked that they fill all those holes in the siding before the structure was closed up. I happened to come home when they were closing the space and no one had filled the holes or covered the 2 ft x 2 ft holes they created in the roof to do an electrical tie in. I had to provide the lumber and chalk for the worker to do it and actually got on a ladder to show him what I wanted. I had asked that they use metal flashing when doing the roof valley. They used tar paper. I had them redo it. The painter used latex paint suitable only for wood on the metal columns. They have rusted through. We had to have the person who installed the fan come back the next day because it did not work and they had the wires reversed. I question now if he was even a licensed electrician. All in all it was a very frustrating experience. I had to keep an eye on everything they did just to get basic construction work done right. I would not recommend BMR.
