BMW of Murray Used Car Center had a 2006 Mini Cooper listed on Motor Trend.com Used Cars for $13,525. I contacted the dealership and spoke with Scott, I made an offer, which he rejected. At this point, he told my wife and I that he would honor the price of $13,525 that was listed and agreed that the vehicle was advertised for this price. I had him fax a contract of sale, this document noted the price as $14,100, which is the current selling price.
I advised him that I was only willing to make the purchase if he would honor the price of $13,525. Scott stated that he would only honor the price if I had a hard copy of the advertisement. I went back to the internet site and the price was back to $14,100.
I do not expect this type of "cheesy" used car pricing games from such a dealership. I guess I will remember this when I decide to replace my current M3.
