I am a victim of Sexual Harassment by my General Manager when I worked for Bob Evans Farms for over 3 years. Though I went through the "chain of command" with my complaint, I was still terminated. (fired) When I filed my lawsuit and complaints with all applicable state agencies I was told that "there was no proof" and since I was a server and was not in a high income bracket to sue my former employer.

So now almost a year later I still suffer from the emotional damage and hurt that this has caused my life. I did not even get an apology from my former employer, but only a letter of mockery that I was at fault...So now after endless legal battles with Bob Evans Farms I am only left with the emotional damage that was done to me by my General Manager Cedric Hines. I don't think I will ever have closure with this issue its a daily struggle to forget the painful memories.

I honestly feel that by the time that the company heard of my allegations it was already to late to investigate my allegations, so they had no choice but to support their managers and also Area Director, this is understandable but should not have been tolerated. Furthermore it was clearly written in my employee file that I brought my allegations on sexual harassment to my management, this was the reason that I was terminated. "Bryanna is alleging sexual harassment, this type of behavior will result in termination". (Cedric Hines 03/18/01) So even to this day I wonder if my employee file was ever sent to Corporate Headquaters, and if it was why then did they say that I never went to my management team with my allegations?Because in a letter to my attorney Bob Evans stated " Ms. Poulin had every opportunity to go to her members of management if she felt she was being harassed". So obviosly they never recieved my file, or they were covering up their managers mistake?

When I requested a copy of my file on numerous occasions I was told to "suponena my file through my attorney" so this statement has me believe that they (Corporate) did have my file. It is my belief that what happened to me was not intentional by Bob Evans Farms Inc but that my allegations should have been rectified immediately, but instead both my management team and my area directior (Ron Stisak) had allowed me to be terminated and by the time Bob Evans Farms had any idea of who I was and my allegations against the corporation they had no other option but to "stick by their managers".

Why would a 14 year Area Director not investigate the sitution himself? This question goes back to why Bob Evans allowed it to be tolerated, by the time I went to Mr. Stisak with my allegations I was already "suspended pending termination". So when my allegations finally reached Corporate alot of other questions had to be answered. For instance why was alcohol served at the employee Christmas party? (No alcohol can be consumed during an employee function) or why did my Area Director take my allegations lightly? These questions will never be answered, and I have to deal with the thoughts of "if this happened to me it is continuosly happening".

The closest instance I have had to go on with my life and not feel at fault was a conversation I had with my former assistant general manager who was also my superior at the time I was employed with Bob Evans Farms when during the conversation about my "allegations" against Bob Evans and Cedric Hines was when my Assistant GM Patrick Jones said "Yeah he got away with it"... I at least knew that someone with the company knew what the real TRUTH is.
