Complaint and refund request for bad quality work and damages done at Brake Check Store 545: Complaint Ref RO # 0035338
My experience with Brake Check has been terrible and I would not recommend anyone taking their car to them. Please save yourself some time, money and frustration! Here are some details of their lack of knowledge of brakes and their poor customer service.
I had to get a brake cylinder replaced by Galleria Motors as the bad quality brake booster (supposedly new and under warranty) installed incorrectly by Brake Check damaged this part. Store 545 forgot to put in the gasket between the booster and brake cylinder and that caused additional fluid leakage requiring a replacement. This inspection is corroborated by the inspection report provided by Galleria Motors. I can provide contact details and other documents if needed. The cost of this work performed was $402.88 and all documents and receipts that document these facts can be produced as needed.
The original problem of the brake booster making noise and the pedal sinking all the way to the floor still stands unresolved even after I went over 5 times to this store about the same issue.
My refund request is also open with them for almost a month now (3 months of running back and forth to the store and 1 month of an open refund request). The refund request includes the payment of the brake booster replaced by Brake Check and the master cylinder damaged because of poor workmanship. The refund request and damages sum up to $804.58 ($401.70 and $402.88).
If Brake Check is serious about a resolution to this issue and to save their future business they need to issue me a refund asap otherwise their incompetence will cost them future customers!
