Well, I wanted to post an update on my situation. I have been with my new bank for almost 2 months now and I haven't had one fee posted on my account. My paycheck is made available on Thurs/AM. They don't put holds anything. So to all of you who told me to keep track of things better -- well, I didn't change one way that I was doing things -- just the bank. So, it made a difference changing banks. I have since filed a complaint with the FDIC. I have not received a response, but I have from BB&T. They removed the $664.00 in overdraft fees I occurred while closing out my account. The only thing they are asking for are the actual amount on the payments that they did process for me. Which is fair -- I am not trying to rip them off like they did with me for so many years. I really wish I had done this sooner. The funny thing is my co-worker told me that now her account with BB&T they are making her paycheck funds available sooner and they didn't put a hold on a check. Just maybe all the people who have gone public with their claims and the ones who contact FDIC, have finally made a difference on how this BB&T is going to operate in the future.

bb&t is one of the biggest rip off banks ever -- i hope to get a class action suit against them --i wonder can you tell what they do with all these fees they collect -- are they supporting something overseas -- mmmmmm -- all i had to do is put in complaints about bb&t and thousands appeared -- i wonder why -- are we are lying/ wrong -- do we all not know how to do finances --don't think so -- funny with my new bank i have had not a bit of problems or fees -- and actually the bank before that (which bb&t bought out) -- i never had a problem with them either --so face the fact mr. jones -- bb&t sucks!

I see that Mr. Jones is the typical BB&T employee trying to act as a customer to make BB&T sound like they do nothing wrong... I have news for you, Mr. Jones... you are a LIAR. I also am having problems with BB&T... I have spoken with their branch manager at LEAST 5 times trying to verify when my funds for my Direct deposit are available... My deposit comes in Tuesday, and after looking at my account, the manager has specifically told me my finds are available Wednesday morning... Checkin on the online banking site does also show my funds as AVAILABLE... however, *ANY* checks that present Wednesday or Thursday, or ANY charges I make on my BB&T check card Wednesday or Thursday, are met with a 34.00 NSF fee, *AND* a 34.00 Overdraft fee... I also have a savings account set up for overdraft and they have *NEVER* transferreed funds from that account to cover *ANY* item... I have tried to talk to the Branch Manager about this, she says the accounts are properly linked and has *no idea* why they are not debiting my overdraft account if something comes in and there truly aren't funds to cover it... She also cannot explain why I am getting charged NSF and OVERDRAFT fee's when she stated to my FACE that the funds from my deposit are available Wednesday... No one will allow you to speak with anyone higher than the manager at your local branch, and basically blow off any complaints... they are refusing to refund *ANY* of their fraudulent charges. In the last month, They have nailed me for almost 2000.00 in false charges on my account... I have filed a complaint with the FDIC, and the lady I spoke with wasn't surprised to my complaint... she says they receive many complaints against BB&T daily for the SAME issues... I hope they nail BB&T so hard with fines they go bankrupt. I have already opened an account with a different bank and will NEVER deal with BB&T ever again.

For the past 10 years I have banked with bb&t. Direct deposit so my checking is free. Why do you expect bb&t to keep up with your accounts and balances if you cant seem to. Spend only what you know you have deposited. If you know the money is not available till monday, why do you make withdraws toward the account before then? My funds are direct deposited in my account on thursday night at 12:00 which is actually friday morning, my funds are available, even for complete withdraw on friday morning. And yes they do charge for overdraft, however this saves you money, if they did not pay on your overdrawn account, you would still pay the bank for nsf charges, plus a fee to whomever you wrote the checks to.
