Ok, so this all kind of started on September 12th when I made a deposit into my account of $345.00. there was $4 dollars and some change already in the account. I paid a bill in the amount of $352.09 and it caused my account to go negative in the amount of $2.67. I called BB&T to see if the fee would be reversed as a courtesy, plus the overdraft was such a small amount. No such luck-fine! It was my fault that the account was negative so I let it go.

I made a deposit of $132.00 on September 16th and a $35 overdraft item fee was deducted from my account, leaving me with $94.33. I made purchases of $28.10, $56.65 and a hold of $1.00 was placed on the account for a gas purchase. That left me with $8.58 until I returned some merchandise to a store on September 18th and received a credit of $13.38. I knew the gas purchase of $13.04 would be settling and posted to the account soon, so I immediately called BB&T's automated service to find out if the credit had posted. I was told I had $21.96 in my account. I was relieved because the gas purchase would be paid and I wouldn't have to make a mad dash to the bank this morning (Septemer 19th) to make a deposit to cover the purchase IF it was not posted at midnight and there were overdraft charges.

I checked my e mail today and there were two notifications from BB&T stating my account balance was zero and that it was negative $25.08!!!!!!!!! I immediately called customer relations and I was FURIOUS! I was also online looking at my account and saw that the gas purchased was settled, but the credit was pending with today's date and a $35 overdraft item fee had been charged. I spoke to a representative who danced around my question of why the credit was in my available balance a of yesterday, but was not posted at midnight, causing an overdraft. I demanded to speak to a supervisor. Pam Causey came to the line and joined in doing the jig with the rep I'd just spoken with. No one could give me a valid reason as to why BB&T posted debits before they posted this credit which so obviously would have avoided an overdraft.

I have another bank account with SunTrust which is where I keep the majority of my money and it's a good thing I don't invest all of my money with BB&T. I have never had such a problem with SunTrust! I immediately went to both the Better Business Bureau and the FDIC online and filed complaints. I don't want any rebuttals from some "holier than thou" idiot claiming I should balance my account better because wrong is wrong and in this case, BB&T was more wrong than two left feet. When I'm done typing this, I am e mailing ripoffreport.com to find out about to begin legal proceedings because there are more people citing the same problem I am having than there are goody two shoes stating they haven't had this problem.

I always love how people blame banks for "stealing" their money when it is them who can't keep track of their expenses. Do you expect them to hold your hand every step of the way and watch your account 24/7? Come on lady. You're an adult. Learn to take responsiblities for your actions and quit blaming everyone else. That is why this world is so screwed up. Man up to your mistakes.
