Ok so I moved in on February 7 of this year and I have already had a world of problems. First, this is my first apartment so I guess they decided they would try to NOT be up to par with their stuff. They were wrong.
First problem came into play when I was not even shown this apartment until the day I got my keys. I came in and it was very evident there were tons of problems. Paint on the walls was chipping, water stains in the ceiling, mildew smells from the bathroom, etc. The guy who showed me the apartment informed me that everything would be fixed by the end of the first week. He rushed me through looking and did not write ANYTHING on the move-in inspection document.
Second, after about a week or two of feeling out the neighborhood and apartment, I realized that a lot more things were broken that I did not know about. I then went to the front office on Feb 24 and reported to the lady who leased me that my air conditioner was not working, I still had a water stain in my guest room that leaked, my blinds were horrible, the paint of my walls needed to be fixed, my bathroom smelled like mildew after my first shower (and I have asthma), my dishwasher did not work properly, my refrigerator was going bad, and the people across the hall were a bother. Nothing was done and no work orders were put in.
Fast forward, and as you can guess, NOTHING was done. I finally got to the point where I EMAILED the main office instead of calling (because calling was getting me nowhere) and I let them know if things were not fixed in 4 days I would not be submitting payment for rent. I tried everything and still nothing was fixed until march 12. A whole month after I had moved in.
Needless to say, they are trying to evict me by taking me to court. They will be very unsuccessful.
