"Breanna,
I have to tell you willy is still nipping and kicking in his stall, when he arrived at the barn he was severely under weight, aggressive, bitting and kicking, weaving when getting him dressed my grand daughter could not even be in his stall he was so bad and unsafe . We were unable to even groom him due to his aggressive behavior. when we did put my grand daughter on him he was throwing his head and would not move forward at all, who know if this was pain or lack of energy? His back and withers was very sore and very stiff from behind. He did not have any energy to work the first and second week. I have had the vet out to see three times now. He is also very girthy I assume that is due to the lack of good nutrition and ulcers creating a pain issue.
The first time to address the weight and energy issue, we started him on LMF gold and rice bran, 1 flake of alfafa 2 grass in the a.m and the same in the evening, he was started on grass turn outs for 30 minutes the first 2 wks he did not eat andy grass at all, ( strange a horse who does not know how to eat grass ) .
The second time to deal with the stiff and pain issues. we had his hocks injected and started him on adaquin
The third time was for the aggressive behavior, weaving, kicking, biting, ear pinning, pawning, we started him on gastroguard.
The horse was a complete mess the care given to him prior to us getting him was less than appropriate. I would have been ashamed to treat an animal this way little lone put him up for sale, this horse has been neglected, and underfeed. I am not sure how you keep him going and moving ? But this is a very sad situation for both my grand daughter and the horse.
To date willy is still aggressive in his stall, weaving, Kicking, bitting, pinning his ears at anyone who gets close to his stall, he charges the staff how bring him his food, ( Unsafe behavior and very dangerous) his is very difficult to saddle up. My grand daughter cannot groom him ( safely) nor has she ridden him since the head throwing issue above. His has been worked three times this week, he is moving better, offering trot but very winded and still has low energy levels. I have two trainers working with him one who is a professional and the other who mentors under her. Both have many years of training and riding horse, both are very concerned about the safety of my grand daughter.
I have spent well over 2000.00 for a horse who my grand daughter should have been able to just get on and ride. I will send you an itemized bill If would like to see it? This is not including the fact I asked if the shots were up to date and I needed the shot record that never arrived, Or the cost, of the supplements, shots, grain.
Please consider the horse paid in full and send me the bill of sale and the shot records.
I have video of willys condition upon arrival and a record of all times the vet has been out to see him and the progress he has been making. Which is slow and very unsettling my thoughts would be to just haul him back to you and have you give me all my money back and send you the vet bill. But that would be very sad and an unkind thing to do to Willy.
Thank you
Tina"
