As a family with three kids traveling in Arizona during 112 degree hot July days, the one thing that we wanted to help keep the kids cool and entertained was a pool at the hotel we were going to stay at.

After looking at many hotels in Lake Havasu area we chose Bridgewater Hotel based on the pictures and the description that it had a " pool with a sundeck and chairs" no mention that it was closed.

On our way to Bridgewater Hotel, I called to confirm our reservation and that the pool was open, I was informed the pool was not open but indeed closed, I said I wanted to cancel and was then told it was going to be a 50% room rate charge for cancellations within a 48 hour timeframe. The lady receptionist was very short and acted like that's the way it's going to be and calling the management won't change a thing.

Bridgewater Hotel had no loss, the room wasn't used. It's just being greedy and ripping off. Charging a 50% room rate for cancellations is UNCONSCIONABLE!

The whole issue was about the pool not being open as noted in previous statements between Bridgewater Hotel and us and them stating that the Arizona governor guidelines about pools was that they we're to be closed when in fact they weren't required to be closed and that Bridgewater Hotel had no notice that the pool was closed.

1.Bridgewater Hotel never reached out to us prior to checking in.

2.Bridgewater Hotel never left us a message.

3.Assumed we we were late? We called them an hour out to verify reservation and then were told the pool was closed, upon hearing this we cancelled and were told a 50%charge would incur without a 48 hour notice. Bridgewater Hotel did not disclose that the pool was closed and continue to now lie about contacting us previous to checking in and are being deceptive because they didn't mention to Booking.com about what they said about why we cancelled which was because the pool was closed.  Hi Kelly, We checked your claim with BridgeWater Motel and they declined it because: How many times do I need to respond to this claim. She had a reservation. We reached out to contact her, no answer. left a message.

Assumed she was a late arrival. Processed her charges. Later, marked as no show. 50% of room charge for no cancellation was processed. If you want to discuss this further, reach out to them at: +1 928-855-3550 Whenever you need us, we're always here. Best regards, Booking.com Customer Service Team

Bridgewater hotel lies to Booking.com

When I complained to Booking.com about Bridgewater Hotel, Booking.com sent me this from the hotel. Hi Kelly Crepeault, We checked your claim with BridgeWater Motel and they declined it because: Guest called several times, upset that the pool was closed - AZ Gov. orders. Booking.com VERY unclear in cancelling - only forwarded a message that they want to cancel. Informed of 50% charge for last minute cancellation=$88.57 as they had 2 rooms same price.

Amount Before Tax: 79.95 Amount After Tax: 79.95 If you want to discuss this further, reach out to them at: +1 928-855-3550 Whenever you need us, we're always here. Best regards, Booking.com Customer Service Team. 1.I only called once, that's when I found out the pool was closed. 2. AZ Gov. According to their website had no such orders to have hotel pools closed. 3. I was very clear why I wanted to cancel, because they the pool closed and I had kids that wanted a pool during the 112 days. Such an easy thing to tell the truth but I guess they couldn't even do that. So sad.

No hotel pool closures ordered by the governor

The lady who answered the phone said the pool was closed because the Arizona Govenor had issued that all hotel pools were to be closed, but upon checking on the governor's website it laid out some basic guidelines about using pools during the CoronaVirus outbreak but said nothing about complete pool closures as was the reason Bridgewater hotel had it's pool closed, regardless, Bridgewater Hotel should have notified it's guess before paying for their room so they wouldn't get charged 50% of the total room rate charge after the fact of finding out their pool was closed.
