This is very hard to talk about, but here it goes. I joined Brooke over a year ago. I was pitched by the Franchise sales girl, and she made Brooke sound wonderful. She even coached me in how to fudge my resume and how to pad my sales so the VP would be impressed. In fact she put words into my mouth at committee. They gave the spot I was looking for. Ever since joining it has been an absolute nightmare. The didn't give me the companies I asked for, infact they didn't even have some of the companies I wanted and needed, even though they said they did.

After being pressured to sign the agreement, it took Brooke over 90 days to get my first appointment, which was a company called Hagerty, and my area manager (who has never written an insurance policy) explained to me that it was an auto and home company with very competitive rate in TX. Since I had been in the business for over 5 years working for an independent agent, I knew that Hagerty was for classic cars. My point being, this was the first indication that Brooke didn't really know the insurance business as I was led to believe. In fact Brooke is not in the insurance business, they are in the franchise business, and in order to keep the cash flow looking good for their investors, their sole purpose is to flip these agencies as fast as possible in order to get their VERY hefty franchis fee of 165,000.00.

Now that I have been here for a while I have racked up a large debt. Brooke has charged me for everything under the sky, and has put it on my statement, which is impossible to reconcile due to the fact that Brooke will not give their agent a copy of the commission statements from the carriers. Everything they did to convence me to get signed up, has now been pulled away. There is no more co-op with the agents for certain marketing, no more advances for the agent to live on. In my committee, the VP told me to give him a number that I would need to live on for my personal expenses. I gave that number, and now has been pulled away. I no longer receive the amount of money promissed to me. I no longer can pay my bills, I no longer have my car, I had to get rid of it in order to feed my family, and now, I have filed for bankruptcy just so I can keep a roof over my head.

Brooke Corporation and the upper management, especially the RVP for Texas has completely and totally ruined 95% of their franchisees personal life. SO IF ANY ONE WANTS TO LOOK AT BROOKE BE VERY CAREFUL, YOU WILL BE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.
